Lightning Glove at Pohoda 2019

Lightning Glove at Pohoda 2019

Post-punk, electronics, dubstep, rave, industrial... Lightning Glove is a Prague electronic project that covers all these genres. Last year they released a new album “Irrelevant Dreams” with Nona records. “In City In The Daylight” represents Salem in Damien Dubrovnikʼs imagination, while “In The Club Wasted” sounds like some mythic collaboration between Giant Swan and The Prodigy,” wrote Norman Records about the album. For Lightning Glove, the “Irrelevant Dreams” is a unique statement about a peculiar anonymous club hell, which sounds like a promise that this band will make us dance also in CCC Club at Pohoda 2019. → read more

Juhász Tamás at Pohoda 2019

Juhász Tamás at Pohoda 2019

Tamás Juhász is an active member of the Hungarian publisher and collective of experimental & techno music "EXILES". His first album SIMILAR SUBSTANCE /// SAME SUBSTANCE came out last year, and could be interpreted as a melancholic throw back to his childhood through the prism of broken beats and strange melodies. Currently he is working on two follow-up albums to be released. His version of techno is leaving you a bit of a fresh air with the exceptionally flowy synthesizers. → read more

w y m e at Pohoda 2019

w y m e at Pohoda 2019

W y m e is highly regarded in the scene for her rare electro hybrid sound. Recently she started with the club night Xeno with which she encourages the weird experimental club scene in Bratislava. Different than other DJs, she isn't afraid to mix fragments of pop in her dark rhythmic sets, or anything what she loves and finds on her musical journey. This winter you could’ve heard her at NEXT festival, in summer you can see her at Pohoda 2019 – w y m e’s set on Friday will be a fresh wind, ending the night at CCC Club. → read more

Lolina at Pohoda 2019

Lolina at Pohoda 2019

Lolina, formerly known as Inga Copeland, is a former member of the cult witch-house-trip-hop project Hype Williams (Hyperdub, Big Dada), which she founded with Dean Blunt back in 2005, and which she left also with Blunt in 2012. They both set out in different directions to discover the radical and adventurous corners of music, often on the edge of performance and improvisation. Lolina shares very little about her identity while asking whether she has the right to be forgotten; it is by denying the personality cult that she puts more emphasis on the work itself. In her music, she works a lot with sampled fragments, which she includes in her sound collages and accompanies with her voice, reciting or singing. Her compositions gradually disintegrate and then reunite into a whole; the work with fluid rhythmic elements, which are transformed from organized chaos into polyrhythmic dance rhythms and back again, is her signature. Her music is uncompromising, hectic, and political. → read more

Umbra at Pohoda 2019

Umbra at Pohoda 2019

Umbra, Marija Balubdžić’s solo project, was recommended to us by her mother label Baba Vanga that has been releasing interesting cassettes for many years. Marija is active in Belgrade and Vienna, and transforms the influences of both cities into her work. Her sound is based on her powerful and energetic voice, which develops into electronic poetry. The Quietus writes about her: “Marija Balubdžić has participated in a diverse variety of musics over the years, conducting choirs, making noise poetry, and working with some far more academic electroacoustic methods and pedagogies. Her solo project, Umbra, synthesizes it all together, splitting constantly between sweet and sour, noise and melody.“ We’re looking forward to being consumed by her music in CCC Club at Pohoda 2019. → read more

Mołr Drammaz at Pohoda 2019

Mołr Drammaz at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda 2019 will also host the Polish experimenters Mołr Drammaz, a comeback of Wojciech Kucharczyk and his sister Asia Bronislawska’s band which they founded in 1995. Already back then they caught people’s attention with their atypical rhythms, powerful lyrics and unusual experimentation with electronics. They were among the most active bands within the Polish underground electronic scene. Recently, they have released a new album on the Dutch label Lullabies For Insomniacs that is called Times Before Emojis, and they’re getting back on stage to present it.  → read more
