Pohoda 2019 will host also Džumelec, a visual artist who devotes himself to jabbering and succulence in art. He is currently nominated for the Oskár Čepan Award as a young artist. Having four kids and being a songwriter, he documents their experiences, ideas, and games. You will learn, for example, what treasures children hide in their backpacks, whether a bear is going to miss “bear paws” (delicious cookies) at Christmas, or hear a story of how the grandma took care of pain. Also this year, we will have the representation of Bratislava Region Tourism, the regional tourism organization, which will promote the possibilities of tourism in the region through an interactive quiz and games. Visitors to the Pohoda festival will receive, in addition to information about the region, also practical gifts that will make more enjoyable the festival days and also a possible visit to the Bratislava region. Bratislava Region Tourism, in cooperation with the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, will also install a giant photo-rotunda on the festival grounds, where visitors will be able to take a picture in front of beautiful panoramas of the region. → read more

The Vojdi trio, originating in Prešov, had a great introduction already at Pohoda 2018. In January this year, they made dance De Drie Gezusters, one of the biggest clubs in the centre of Groningen, at the Pinguin Radio Showcase. Their work is characterized by varied compositions with frequent motif changes and unconventional rhythmics. Approaching the music with ease, they resemble the local legendary band Chiki Liki Tu-a, but in terms of sound, they are particularly influenced by the French new wave of eclectic bands such as Aquaserge and Moodoid. They are currently working on videos and a new album, which is to be released this autumn; however, they agreed to play some of the songs in the premiere at Pohoda 2019 in only one month. → read more

Pohoda 2019 will also feature the drum'n'bass DJ, producer and co-owner of several labels John B. This British musician is known for his eccentric and sharp sound, hairstyle and wardrobe. DJ Mag put him twice in the list of the 100 most influential DJs (ranking highest from among all the drum'n'bass producers). Fans describe his work as trance and bass due to distinctive female vocals and characteristic trance synths he uses. As a sought-after beatmaker, he collaborated with Nicki Minaj on her single "Here I Am", for example. The author of the hits "Up All Night", "Midnight Air" or "Mr. Freud” will make the Trenčín Airport dance in little over a month. → read more

Lunter will present their new concept—Lunter Bistro—at Pohoda this year. They will offer the popular oatmeal porridge and chia puddings, hot soups, and scrambled tofu in sealable take-away packaging. There will also be the most popular dish of the past year, the Lunter hot dog, and, of course, Lunter spreads and rolls. The novelty of this year will be a Lunter bowl, which is a salad with tofu, vegetables, chickpeas, and dressing. → read more

Pohoda 2019 will also feature the instrumental post-rock trio Our Stories. Their dynamic guitar music is characterized by energetic drums and playful bass lines. In addition to last year's Pohoda, they also proved their qualities at this year's Eurosonic, as evidenced by great reviews from British media such as DIY, All Things Loud and portals from Holland (OOR) and Belgium (Focus Knack). They will come to Trenčín in a new line-up, with a new sound and, above all, with their debut album Pursuit of Happiness. → read more

The Family Park programme includes accompanying activities and various workshops. Children will learn how to get creative with Janko Hraško, how clothes used to be made by our grandparents, and EDUdrama will make room for the kids to “give the life a dry run”. Ecological topics will be included as well: at the knitting workshop, children will get to know how to make bamboo make-up removal pads and recycle worn-out T-shirts, learn a lot about the Slovak nature, and help the whale singer Greta clear the sea.
