Thank you for the fantastic atmosphere at the Slovak pub festival concerts

We originally hoped that at least a few pubs and a few bands would join the cause. Finally, as for the number of performances, Slovenská krčma (The Slovak Pub Festival) became an event comparable to Pohoda. Over the past two weeks, 150 bands delivered almost 200 performances within 114 events in 100 pubs across Slovakia. You could also enjoy the atmosphere of the concerts on Friday through a unique live broadcast from all the pubs that was joined by Aktuality.sk, Týždeň, Denník N, NOIZZ, Artforum, Hudba.sk and ZOMRI as well. It was on Friday when the President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová visited one of the pubs. However, most importantly, all the pubs, artists, bands involved, and especially the concert attenders showed that most of the pub frequenters in Slovakia are not racists and do not identify with fascist views. → read more

TNGHT at Pohoda 2020

TNGHT at Pohoda 2020

Another treat for the electronic music enthusiats at Pohoda 2020 will be the joint transatlantic project of Hudson Hohawke and Lunice – TNGHT. Seven years after their fantastic debut, which greatly influenced the electronics of the past decade, they’ve returned to the scene with the album TNGHT II. It’s not the kind of music suitable as a background noise or music you’d hear in a café. Hud Mo and Lunice describe it as the most perfect record they’ve ever made in terms of instrumentation. The result is excellent electronics with no categories applicable. It’s a record that falls outside the market rules or the expectations of others, one the duo made on their own terms. As Hud Mo says about the album: "I think it’s a good indicator if something sounds weird and refreshing to us " → read more

The Space Lady at Pohoda 2020

The Space Lady at Pohoda 2020

Pohoda 2020 will also see the living legend of outsider music, The Space Lady. The Guardian mentions her album The Space Lady’s Greatest Hits in their selection of “The 101 Strangest Records on Spotify” and NME in their list of “101 Album to Hear Before You Die”. Our Graphic Design and curator, Tereza Maco, discovered The Space Lady for us and says the following about the booking: “The Space Lady should become a guilty pleasure of all terrestrial beings as she has long dominated the space mainstream with her passion and batterry-powered Casio.” → read more

FKA twigs at Pohoda 2020

FKA twigs at Pohoda 2020

FKA twigs appeared at the beginning of the decade with EP1, in the middle decade she released LP1 and ended the ten years with the famous second album Magdalene (both of her albums were recordings of the year according to magazines Time and Clash). FKA twigs quickly turned from a companion dancer to a modern art icon comparable to David Bowie in the 1970s, Kate Bush in the 1980s, and Björk in the 1990s. Her work combines classical music, electronic music, ballet, opera singing, and pooldance, and she works with the best directors, costume designers, and animators. The head of all this is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, professionally known as FKA twigs, who, according to Fullmoon editors, took care of perhaps the best performance of last year’s Primavera, if not of the whole year. In a few months she will enchant with her Magdalena also visitors to the Trencin airport.  → read more
