Lomnické Čháve at Doma Dobre 2019

Lomnické Čháve at Doma Dobre 2019

The Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve filled up the NAY dance house at Pohoda 2017 and left everyone feeling breathless. The editor in chief of the Music Festival Wizard portal described the concert as the best dance party of the year. A year later, they came to us with a documentary by Ladislav Kaboš entitled Kapela (The Band). A few hours afterwards, they started an energetic dance party on the main stage when they played during the Welcoming of the Sun ceremony with perhaps the greatest participation so far. In a few days, they will perform at Bashavel as part of the Roma Spirit event, which they also attend as a band nominated in the Culture category (for authentic and wild music production and presentation of the Roma culture). They are currently working on new songs, the first video and will also perform at the Doma Dobre concert. → read more

Saténové Ruky at Doma Dobre 2019

Saténové Ruky at Doma Dobre 2019

Saténové Ruky are musically characterized by simple guitar riffs and rock and roll drives. They have released great albums Bozkávam and Tretí album and the new single "Gravitácia" and "37°C". What is great about their concert is the band members' apparent joy of what they do (confirmed at Pohoda in 2016, 2017 and 2018). As Vlado Janček said in an interview for Newsound: "The feeling of having one's own vinyl in their hand, or when other people than their colleagues from work show up at the concert, is really worth it." Therefore, you will definitely make Vlado happy if you come to their concert in St. Vincet de Paul night shelter. → read more

Asmâa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou at Pohoda 2020

Asmâa Hamzaoui & Bnat Timbouktou at Pohoda 2020

The first representative of world music at Pohoda 2020 is Asmâa Hamzaoui with the band Bnat Timbouktou. Asmâa is a rarity of the Moroccan music scene. She is the first female representative of the Gnawa genre (ritual music of sub-Saharan tribes which has the effect of provoking trance state) and a professional player of an instrument called Guemri (a type of three-string bass lute – her father was the master of playing the instrument). At the age of 16 she became the first woman to ever perform at the official Gnawa genre event as a Guemri player. Nowadays, she spreads this desert blues in a contagious manner together with her exclusively female band Bnat Timbouktou, whose members accompany their singing by playing metal castanets, so-called qraqebs.   → read more

ZHU at Pohoda 2020

ZHU at Pohoda 2020

Pohoda 2020 will also feature Chinese-American singer and producer of electronic music ZHU. In early 2014 he released the song "Faded" which was nominated for a Grammy and was among the top 10 most sold records in several countries. His debut album Generationwhy even made it to the very top of the American dance chart. The artist himself started in anonymity and still keeps a rather low profile. According to his loved ones, he wants to get people to focus primarily on his work this way and not on his personality. In September 2018 he released his second album Ringos Desert featuring collaborations with names such as Tame Impala, TOKiMONSTA and Majid Jordan, and he presented it impressively in the desert at the Burning Man festival. The best club DJ of electronic music from LA, according to LA Weekly, will make our festival-goers dance as well. → read more

Floating Points Live at Pohoda 2020

Floating Points Live at Pohoda 2020

Electronic music fans can also look forward to the Floating Points Live concert at Pohoda 2020. London producer Sam Shepherd (who, by the way, has a PhD in neuroscience) has been recording under this stage name since 2008. Floating Points’ breakthrough album Elaenia from 2015 intertwines electronic dance music with his roots in classical music (he studied piano). According to Resident Advisor, the recording he spent five years putting together, was the best album of 2015. According to the portal, “jazz-fusion, ambient, classical, house— had merged as a masterwork” on the album. → read more

Yves Tumor at Pohoda 2020

Yves Tumor at Pohoda 2020

Another re-conffirmed name of the Pohoda 2021 is the American producer of experimental electronic music Yves Tumor and its band. His latest albums Heaven to a Tortured Mind and Safe in the Hands have reached several selections of the best albums of the year. As xlr8r wrote:: “Yves Tumor set the benchmark extremely high for experimental music. It was difficult to place him into any genre; shoegaze, trip-hop, noise, alt-rock, and pop all come to mind. It’s hard to think of a more memorable and original album this year.”   → read more
