Concert for the Attentive – The Wilderness

Concert for the Attentive – The Wilderness

The Wilderness – real evidence that punk at its best is not dead – will perform at Concert for the Attentive in Fuga. Brilliant lyrics, excellent music and uncompromising attitudes are the reasons why The Wilderness rank among the principal bands on the Slovakian music scene. Their video for the song "Čo s tým hnevom" (also created at Pohoda 2018), was described as the Video of the Year by Slovak music portal Hudba.sk. → read more

Shame at Pohoda 2020

Shame at Pohoda 2020

Another name of Pohoda is the British alternative rock band Shame. They debuted at the beginning of 2018 with the appropriately titled album “Songs of Praise”, as straight after the release, the British media launched a praise race for this recording. NME called the album the debut of 2018 in their yearly selection, and gave it the highest possible rating (five stars out of five). They also described it as loveably sarky and sordid work and concluded that Shame is a band with a real sense of showmanship, as those who have witnessed their sweat-slicked live shows will know. Songs of Praise topped the UK vinyl record charts and made it among the top ten albums of the year by the Rough Trade radio (1st), DIY (2nd), and The Independent (10th). Shame will come to confirm the great reputation also at the Trenčín airport. → read more

Concert for the Attentive – Ještě jsme se nedohodli

Concert for the Attentive – Ještě jsme se nedohodli

Ještě jsme se nedohodli will open the Concert for the Attentive at Umelka. Representatives of the so-called Brno new wave started out in the 1980s as a one-time thing put together just for fun, but they soon became a sensation on the alternative scene. Not only because they were ignoring bureaucratic obstacles whose purpose was for the regime to control who says what, how and to whom, but, most of all, because of their ability to make quirky music with unusual lyrics. “Nedohodli were original to such an extent that they were regarded as a deviation even in the context of the deviating world of the Czechoslovakian alternative scene. Karel David is a genius lyrics writer, Petr Liška dances and sings those lyrics fantastically. On top of that we have music, which would make some hipsters on the math-rock scene a discovery worldwide if recorded today. This is one of the perfectly hidden music gems,” says Michal Kaščák.   → read more

Concert for the Attentive – Project Fragment K (Stano Masár)

Concert for the Attentive – Project Fragment K (Stano Masár)

The installation by Stano Masár called Fragment K will also form part of the Concert for the Attentive, November 11 / Umelka and Fuga. It’s a series of 16 postcards that together form a photograph of a demolished sculpture of Klement Gottwald on today's Námestie Slobody (Freedom Square). The attenders themselves also take part in the project since they are allowed to take freely from the series of postcards displayed on the wall. This way they will take home a certain fragment of the situation that happened 30 years ago and can keep it or pass it on, since the medium is a real postcard. The image on the wall is being fragmented, it’s slowly decreasing and some parts are disappearing, they’re being taken apart by visitors. → read more
