Bolo nás jedenásť – Live at Pohoda 2017

Bolo nás jedenásť – Live at Pohoda 2017

The legendary album “Bolo nás jedenásť” was played live for the first time ever at Pohoda 2017. The work of the trio Lasica—Satinský—Filip offers a perfect combination of humour, insight, composition genius, and virtuosity. The live version of this album cannot be described just as a great concert: it was literally a great event. And although the magical atmosphere of this exceptional gig cannot be perfectly transferred through speakers and screens, we can at least try to bring it closer to those who did not make it to the concert, and refresh it for all those who have attended. → read more

A Pre-PF 2018 Thank You for Pf 2017

A Pre-PF 2018 Thank You for Pf 2017

At the end of this year again, we prepared the closing credits of our festival. Each name was a treasure. The past year ended up with the historical seven nominations for the European Festival Awards, and it would not have been possible without the hard work of the people listed below. Of course, we are excited to thank the annual winners of the best festival visitor polls, and we are pretty sure to be winners even without a nomination... :)   → read more

Bazzookas at Pohoda 2018

Bazzookas at Pohoda 2018

Before Pohoda 2016, hardly anyone here in Slovakia knew who Bazzookas are, but when the festival ended, this band was one of those that got the most positive feedback. It seems that the attraction was mutual: At the last year’s Reeperbahn, the band awarded Pohoda the Bazzookas Award for the best festival they’ve ever played. What is typical of the band is a school bus around which they create a fantastic pop-up party. To really see what the band is about, check this video from Pohoda 2016 out... → read more

Rodriguez

Rodriguez

Searching for Sugar Man is an Oscar-winning story about a man who should earn a Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement and the “Nobel Prize for Life”. His songs were copied by millions, they inspired anti-apartheid warriors, and legends were being told about him, while he worked at home at construction sites. One of the best songwriters from the end of the hippies era has finally earned the merited recognition. We are very happy that Pohodans will be able to enjoy his performance. → read more

Danny Brown

Danny Brown

After the breakup of his parents, he would sell drugs and he ended up behind the bars; after he was released, he began to devote himself to the childʼs dream—becoming a rapper. Obviously, he is very successful with reaching his objectives. According to the Metro Times, he was the artist of the year 2013; his albums have featured Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. A man of contradictions and a jeans-wearing Detroit rapper with a high-pitched voice, inspired by the sound of Joy Divison and Talking Heads. Journalists race to give more acclaim in the reviews of his albums, while he races with himself. At Pohoda 2018, Danny Brown will show you why MTV called him one of rapʼs most unique figures in recent memory. → read more

The Chemical Brothers

The Chemical Brothers

“What if dance music hit as hard as the fiercest hip-hop and rocked with the visceral force of your favorite guitar banger?” This is what the journalists of Rolling Stone believed was the original conceit of The Chemical Brothers that had shaped their goal. Then Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons entered the studio and recorded the album Dig Your Own Hole that influenced the history of electronic music. “The Chemicals” have so far won Grammy Awards, BRIT Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards; they have released six No. 1 albums, and journalists regularly include their recordings in the charts of the best of the dance music ever. We are well aware of the fact that the preferences of music editors are subjective—this is why we are very excited that you too will be able to make your own opinion of the legend of electronic music at Pohoda 2018. → read more

Reykjavíkurdætur

Reykjavíkurdætur

Cold Nordic women / rap is meant for male bands only: stereotypes that everyone will cross off their list immediately after seeing “Daughters of Reykjavík” at Pohoda. This 16-member (plus a DJ) all-female band reminds you of a clan where individual solos, duos and trios alternate with a performance of the band as a whole. While they are invisible to the local media, they are praised abroad by the likes of Noisey, Loud And Quiet or KEXP.   → read more
