La Femme at Pohoda 2018

La Femme at Pohoda 2018

A fitting ending to the French “surfing” band La Femme’s press kit says: “Catch the wave and listen!” Their music is a brief excursion to the genres of the second half of the 20th century. Their debut Psycho Tropical Berlin made it to the top of digital charts in France and was nominated in the category of Best New Artist in the 2014 French Music Awards. St. Vincent at Pohoda 2018

St. Vincent at Pohoda 2018

One of the most outstanding artists of the present day, St. Vincent, will perform at Pohoda 2018. She won the Grammy Award for her album St. Vincent, NME and The Guardian described it as the best recording of 2014. In October, she recorded her fifth album Masseduction and the media are generous with superlatives again: “MASSEDUCTION is nothing less than an absolute success” (musicOMH). “With her fourth record St. Vincent, she stepped up her pink staircase to a whole new realm as a once in a generation artist”. (DIY) She is going to pay a visit to her fans during the summer tour next year, which will show her impressive amount of talent and eccentric guitar solos also in Trenčín.  → read more

Para, Sendreiovci, and the Moyzes Quartet to perform at the 4th edition of Doma Dobre

The 4th edition of the Doma Dobre concert will be classical, beautiful, energy packed, and spirited! Great musicians will take care of this: the Moyzes Quartet, Sendreiovci & Kokavakere Lavutara, and Para. In co-operation with the Nota Bene magazine, we will present the book Starec a dieťa (translated as “the Old Man and the Child”) by Daniel Pastirčák. Fero Guldán will work on a painting on the spot and one of the concert visitors will take the artwork home. On Sunday, 10th of December, the low-threshold dormitory of St. Vincent de Paul will also host debates on issues related to homelessness. The entrance to the concert is, as usual, free of charge. However, you can donate to help the homeless.  https://www.facebook.com/events/1626496300722010/ → read more
