A new phenomenon on the scene of heavy music genres, band Zeal & Ardor, fuses musical motifs of Afro-American slaves and Nordic black metal elements. The avant-garde metal music project is led by a composer and singer Manuel Gagneux. With his band featuring excellent musicians, he’s been praised by the likes of Independent or Noisey. Pohoda Is Heading to European Festival Awards as the Event with the Most EFA Nominations

Pohoda is going to the gala ceremony organized by the most prestigious festival awards with the record seven nominations leaving behind other popular events such as Roskilde (5), Lowlands (4), Sziget (3) or Exit (3). Thanks to the votes from its visitors, Pohoda is, again, shortlisted in Top 10 in the category of Best Medium-Sized Festival in the Old Continent. Music professionals shortlisted Pohoda in six more categories: Line-Up of the Year, Promoter of the Year, The Green Operations Award, YES Group H&S Innovation Award, The Brand Activation Award as well as Take a Stand Award (honoring important social activities).  → read more

American reggae phenomenon SOJA

Reggae stars SOJA (Soldiers Of Jah Army) are going to play Pohoda 2018. The eight-member band coming from the capital of the United States have 2 Grammy nominations, 7 million followers on social networks and more than 300 million views on YouTube under their belt. On October 27, they released their brand new album Poetry in Motion, which, like its 3 predecessors, tops the Billboard Reggae Album Chart. La Femme at Pohoda 2018

A fitting ending to the French “surfing” band La Femme’s press kit says: “Catch the wave and listen!” Their music is a brief excursion to the genres of the second half of the 20th century. Their debut Psycho Tropical Berlin made it to the top of digital charts in France and was nominated in the category of Best New Artist in the 2014 French Music Awards. Brand Yves Saint Laurent used band’s song “Oh Baby Doll” in their campaign. St. Vincent at Pohoda 2018

One of the most outstanding artists of the present day, St. Vincent, will perform at Pohoda 2018. She won the Grammy Award for her album St. Vincent, NME and The Guardian described it as the best recording of 2014. In October, she recorded her fifth album Masseduction and the media are generous with superlatives again: “MASSEDUCTION is nothing less than an absolute success” (musicOMH). “With her fourth record St. Vincent, she stepped up her pink staircase to a whole new realm as a once in a generation artist”. Para, Sendreiovci, and the Moyzes Quartet to perform at the 4th edition of Doma Dobre

The 4th edition of the Doma Dobre concert will be classical, beautiful, energy packed, and spirited! Great musicians will take care of this: the Moyzes Quartet, Sendreiovci & Kokavakere Lavutara, and Para. In co-operation with the Nota Bene magazine, we will present the book Starec a dieťa (translated as “the Old Man and the Child”) by Daniel Pastirčák. Fero Guldán will work on a painting on the spot and one of the concert visitors will take the artwork home. On Sunday, 10th of December, the low-threshold dormitory of St. Vincent de Paul will also host debates on issues related to homelessness. The entrance to the concert is, as usual, free of charge.
