Pohoda among The Guardian and The Telegraph's Festival picks
Pohoda has been appearing in lists of best festivals in Europe or the world for some time now. While in the past, it was praised mainly by music professionals or specialized media, this year, it is being brought to the spotlight by the most prestigious UK dailiessuch as The Telegraph or The Guardian. The Telegraphmentions Pohoda in their selection of 10 best events in continental Europe that are perfect alternatives to Glastonbury. The Guardianadded Pohoda to the list of 10 of the best under-the-radar music festivals that haven’t been discovered by festivalgoers from western Europe yet, but are definitely worth visiting.

Apart from the online article, The Guardianlists our festival in the printed version of the newspaper’s travel guide. According to the author, Will Coldwell, Pohoda is a big but friendly festival with bold lineup. He further describes it as follows: “At €99 for Slovakia’s biggest arts and music event, it’s well worth the trip. The easy-going festival prides itself on its laid-back crowd and well-facilitated site, which sees around 30,000 visitors a day enjoying not just music, but visual art, film, literature and theatre.” The article is available here: www.theguardian.com/travel/2018/apr/06/10-best-music-festivals-europe-probably-never-heard-of
Less than a month ago, The Telegraphwrote about our festival as well. The newspaper was on the lookout for top 10 events in continental Europe that could be regarded as the best alternatives to Glastonbury. Apart from other things, the author of the article, Natalie Paris, says the following about Pohoda: “An arty, eco-friendly ethos has long set this Slovakian gem apart from its brasher, more commercial Western European cousins. With tempting line-ups spanning lots of genres and affordable drinks prices, more and more Britons are discovering the festival each year.” Besides Pohoda, Primavera, Rock Werchter, Secret Solstice, Bilbao BBK Live or our neighbor Sziget made it to the list as well. These cool articles are coming in the year when Pohoda received a record number of nominations in the European Festival Awards’ shortlists. At the same time, it’s the first festival from the Czech Republic and Slovakia to win a prize in this prestigious poll as a jury of professionals awarded our festival for the best eco-friendly solutions.
