Billy Barman and the girls from SĽUK

Billy Barman and the girls from SĽUK

The band led by Juraj Podmanický, organizer of the allied festival Grape, are planning to launch their new album at Pohoda. Juraj, as a former member of the folklore ensemble Dovinka, invited girls from SĽUK to collab with the band and the untraditional combination works just great. The sold-out shows and positive feedback speak for themselves: “I can’t imagine Pohoda without Billy Barman. If you want good food at the fest, having Barmans play is a must. Otherwise, I quit,” says the head of band’s fan club in Pohoda team, catering-queen, Ľubica Ščambová. The food will be delicious, because Billy Barman decorated with SĽUK will, of course, be playing Pohoda. Enjoy your meal. → read more

Jimmy Pé at Pohoda 2018

Jimmy Pé at Pohoda 2018

The 22nd Pohoda will also see one of the most talented contemporary Slovak electronic music producers, Jimmy Pé. He received a Radio_Head Award for his EP Fake Fantasy. Currently, he is doing very well abroad as well, where his music is played by the likes of Baauer, Daedelus or DJ Craze. Towards the end of last year, he played his latest EP WuShu in China and, in spring, he brought it to the US (where he also performed at Low End Theory, Los Angeles). We’re glad he’s coming to introduce us to the EP at Trenčín airfield in ten days.     → read more

More services and fun, less waste

More services and fun, less waste

The fantastic last yearʼs edition and the record number of nominations for the European Festival Awards have particularly highlighted Pohoda abroad. The Guardian praised it as a well-equipped venue, and The Telegraph highlighted the artistic and eco-friendly approach. Other reputable media mentioned the uncompromising line-up, top-notch services, great organization and atmosphere. Our partners have a great merit in this success, which is also demostrated by the nomination of ZSE in the Brand Activation Award category. Every year, our partners come to the airport with what they do best and, in cooperation with Pohoda, they bring the festival experience to a higher level. Also this year, they have prepared a huge amount of activities and services to make our visitors pampered. Above all the efforts of our partners this year there is responsibility towards the environment. However, managing to meet the ecological goals will ultimately depend on the approach of all visitors of Pohoda. This article will tell you what the 22nd edition of our most famous festival will have to offer in only two weeks. → read more

FAMILY & SILENT CAMP

FAMILY & SILENT CAMP

Due to the increasing interest and limited room available for camping in the Family Park, we have introduced a mandatory reservation of tent lots in this zone. It aims to improve the comfort of placing tents even for the families with children who arrive later on the site. Three weeks before the start of the festival, we sold out the capacity of this tent camp. As a response to the great interest of many people who were not able to get a tent lot in this part of the grounds, we are coming up with another solution, which is creating a special Family & Silent Camp between the Caravan parking and Silent Disco.  → read more

Talkshow at Pohoda 2018

Band TALKSHOW who are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their formation this year will be playing Pohoda 2018 as well. Band’s front man Andreas Imrich is also the Production Manager at our festival. While making sure that everything goes smoothly at the biggest bands’ concerts, he manages to catch the attention of foreign journalists with his own music and show. He achieved this in 2016 at Garage, for example, when gentlemen from Virtual Festivals saw them play. Talkshow are the only local indie band that played SXSW showcase in the US and you could hear their single “Hurricane” on Austrian radio FM4. Right now, their first single in Slovak, “More času”, is in rotation and they will play it live for the first time at our festival. → read more

DJ Ramzy Al Spinoza & MC Safaa Hathot

DJ Ramzy Al Spinoza & MC Safaa Hathot

DJ Ramzy Al Spinoza is a special person from Israel who runs the Monolingua project, the Jerusalem's most tolerant electro haflas (cultural get-togethers). He is the voice of a spectrum of people who do not need conflict: they understand each other through music, regardless of race, nationality, or religion. In the club, you can find dancing side by side the Jews, the Arabs, the Palestinians, the Muslims, the Christians, the Jordanians, the Syrians, and anyone whose humanity and peace in their hearts can uplift the person above the hate. The performance of Ramzy will feature MC Safaa Hathot, a member of the Arapeyat crew and one of the first rapper women in her society. Since 2001, she has been participating in workshops, festivals, and concerts around the world. She also hosts a hip-hop show called Beatna, where she interviews various rappers of her area. You will hear the best of Arabic music, contemporary world-music, exotic bass lines and a selection of underground music from the area of the Mediterranean Sea. → read more

Disordered Kind

Disordered Kind

Bratislava-based Petra Drexler, known in techno community as Leia Drex, and her “more than a blood brother” Daniel Stöger, alias FNX, of Kittsee, Austria, have known each other “almost their entire lives” and have been building their DJ reputation successfully for years, each on their own. One day in 2016, though, they started to think of forming a project together, which was a great idea! This is how a wild combination of Djing and live improvisation full of analogue synths, drum machines and other boxes named Disordered Kind came into being. The duo will be closing Friday program at Slovenská sporiteľňa Arena. → read more

Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve will welcome the sun and present the pre-release of the documentary Kapela (the Band)

Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve will welcome the sun and present the pre-release of the documentary Kapela (the Band)

Do you know which band invented their name for Pohoda? It was Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve! First, they gave a concert here as musicians from the film All My Children; they returned a year later while filming a document about themselves—and as they were included in the official programme, they needed a name. Already named Gypsy Band Lomnické Čháve, they filled up and made sweat the NAY dance house at Pohoda 2017. This year, they are coming with a finished documentary by Ladislav Kaboš named Kapela (the Band), and we will screen the film in the world premiere on Saturday night in Optimistan. Later, on Sunday morning, the band will perform the traditional welcoming the sun on the main stage. “Guys have prepared songs that characterize their emotions and love for music and dance. The concert will begin with a violin improvisation and after the sunrise, they will launch the genuine energetic dance to say goodbye to Pohoda 2018 and its visitors,” said the bandʼs manager Tomáš Slebodník about the upcoming concert. In the case of this Gypsy band, some things just cannot be described by words, they must be experienced. This will be a great concert closure of Pohoda 2018. → read more
