Pohoda on the Ground: a meeting full of freedom at Trenčín

“We have experienced five extraordinary days. Since we started setting up the structures, there has been an unprecedented cordial atmosphere at the Trenčín airport. It was accentuated by the entry of the first visitor at noon on Wednesday, and has remained here until now. The joy of meeting each other was endless, as was the desire to create something and present or perceive art. I am happy that we were able to meet our visitors again, who confirmed that they are the most valuable asset we have”, said Michal Kaščák after the festival. → read more

Shht at Pohoda on the Ground

Shht at Pohoda on the Ground

Belgian band Shht will play their first concert, after a long break caused by the pandemic, at the Trenčín airport. Music portal Dansende Beren wrote about them: “Shht are musically strong enough to be taken seriously, yet at the same time they are absurd enough to never get too serious.” They confirmed that with their phenomenal and, at the same time, uninhibited set prepared for the Pohoda in the Air festival. In just two weeks, these sound-nauts from the sonic ship called Shht will perform space rock for the new generation at Pohoda on the Ground. → read more

Altın Gün at Pohoda on the Ground

Altın Gün at Pohoda on the Ground

Pohoda on the Ground will host also the Grammy-nominated Amsterdam band Altın Gün. The band is famous for its catchy and optimistic combination of genres such as Anatolian rock and Turkish psychedelic folk. New Model Radio wrote “Turkish folk songs which were passed on from generation to generation mix with a blend of funk rhythms, wah-wah guitars and analogue organs.” We have been following the band since 2018, when they debuted with On and were among the hottest bands at Eurosonic. A year later, they released album Gece, for which they were nominated for a Grammy in the Best World Music Album category, and in February this year came out their third album Yol under the label Glitterbeat Records. The latter was praised by Pitchfork, The Wire, The Quietus, and Uncut even called it a “pleasure”. We are pleased to announce that Altın Gün will perform at Trenčín Airport in a few weeks... five times! → read more
