You can support Pohoda also by shopping at Artforum Pezinok

In addition to purchasing a ticket or merchandise, you can also support the Pohoda Festival by buying an LP, a CD or a book. Following the initiative of the Dr. Horák music store, Artforum Pezinok proposed a similar idea: the bookstore undertook to donate 3% of each purchase made in their brick-and-mortar shop (at Kollárová street 12 in Pezinok) in December to Pohoda. P.S.: tomorrow we will announce also our Christmas event. → read more

The Doma dobre festival to take place online, the problems of the homeless remain in the real world

The Doma dobre festival to take place online, the problems of the homeless remain in the real world

The 7th edition of the Doma dobre festival will offer the most varied programme so far. It will offer the music of Dorota Nvotová, Katarzia, Fero Király, Funny Fellows with guests, and Ivan Šiller. The festival will also include dance, literature and debates. You can watch the festival on Sunday, 13th December from 2 pm in a live stream on the YouTube channel and Facebook page of the Pohoda festival and Depaul Slovakia. The aim is to draw attention to the very real problems of homeless people, for whom winter is a critical time. The festival is also a call to support the activities of the largest low-threshold dormitory in Central Europe, which is celebrating 15 years of its establishment. The people behind the dormitory have a simple wish: “As an organization, we have just one wish for our anniversary, together with the homeless people—to survive this winter.”  → read more

Devendra Banhart at Pohoda 2021

Devendra Banhart at Pohoda 2021

Another reconfirmed name of Pohoda 2021 is the American-Venezuelan singer-songwriter Devendra Banhart. Pitchfork describes him as one of the most charismatic artists of modern music. He is considered to be the leading personality of freak folk for his variety of musical sounds and sarcastic lyrics. In September, he released his most personal album so far, called Ma, which is a meditation on life and death. At the end of July, he released the EP Vast Ovoid, which Juno Records described as a carefree recording while the range of instruments is nothing short of impressive, stating in the end of the review: "It's unlikely you'll hear a nicer thing this year."  → read more

Orchestra from the Land of Silence, a documentary produced by Pohoda, is at international festivals and has also been nominated for film awards.

Orchestra from the Land of Silence, a documentary produced by Pohoda, is at international festivals and has also been nominated for film awards.

When the confirmation of Zohra's participation at Pohoda 2019 came, it was decided – instead of the classic documentary about the festival, the team opted for a version that will be dedicated to the brave artists of the first women's orchestra from Afghanistan. Directed by Lucia Kašová the amazing documentary Orchestra from the Land of Silence was created. It captures Zohra at home in Kabul, as well as their journey to Slovakia, where the orchestra played six concerts. The documentary premiered last weekend at DocsMX International Film Festival in Mexico. After this world premiere, an international premiere will be held at the German docx! festival within the Duisburger Filmwoche. The great news is the nomination for the GROSSE KLAPPE Award for the best political documentary for young people. The documentary will also be screened for German students within a video conference. The film is nominated in the 23rd year of the Greek Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People, which is part of the European Children’s Film Association (ECFA). In practice, this means that if the documentary succeeds at the festival at the turn of November and December, it will be automatically nominated for the overall ECFA Awards. → read more

The Soul Rebels at Pohoda 2021

Eight-member brass band from New Orleans, The Soul Rebels are new addition amongst re-confirmed names of Pohoda 2021. The band plays mainly soul, jazz, funk, and hip-hop, and they also enjoy themselves at concerts doing covers of rock and pop hits. The Soul Rebels have been on the scene for a decade now, but their popularity rocketed mainly last year thanks to NPRʼs Tiny Desk gigs, a headline set at TEDx, and their appearance at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They have performed with artists such as Lauryn Hill, Katy Perry, Nas, G-Eazy, Macy Gray, Portugal. The Man, GZA, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, DMX, Metallica, and Marilyn Manson. They have just released Poetry In Montion, which the Offbeat portal has described as catchy, vibrant, energetic and polished. → read more

Concerts of Bez ladu a skladu postponed indefinitely

Twenty concerts of Bez ladu a skladu, which were supposed to take place in October and November 2020, are being postponed indefinitely; perhaps we will be able to make them already in the spring of 2021. We hope to see you at concerts, festivals, and other events soonest possible. #WeMakeEvents → read more
