“On December 1st, the official statement about Grape Festival’s relocation to Trenčín Airport was released. Festival representative Peter Slameň informed me about this decision during a meeting on November 11th and it was indeed a surprising step. A year ago, Pohoda and Grape team representatives held a meeting together where three festival representatives – Ján Trstenský, Juraj Podmanický and Peter Slameň – promised Grape would not be moving to Trenčín. 10,000 miles and 8 centuries undergone within one single show and stage. This is how we could describe a new project by avant-garde-prog-rock band PoiL from Lyon, France. They were supposed to play Pohoda 2020 already, but the long wait for their premiere in our country has brought something positive as well in the form of new band member additions. The virtuoso trio now has a bass-player Benoit Lecomte from band Ni and traditional Japanese music singer / satsuma biwa (an instrument similar to lute) player Junko Ueda in the line-up. The theme of their compositions revolves around the Japanese epic story ‘Heike-Monogatari’ from the 13th century. In their music, the traditional Japanese music and Buddhist Shomyo chant meet the experimental approaches of a modern European band. The Pohoda 2022 line-up grew today (again) by an exceptional formation originating at our western neighbours. After more than twenty years, one of the most inventive Czech bands of the 1980s and 1990s will share the same stage with the most prominent lady of the Czech alternative scene, Iva Bittová. Last week they released a selection double album RELOADED – The Best Of 1988 – 1996 mapping the remarkable artistic career of the legend of the Brno scene of the eighties.   → read more

Vladimír “Potkan” Potančok alias DJ Mooshak is another confirmed name of Concert for the Attentive in Nova Cvernovka. After having graduated from ethnology and social anthropology, he is currently the editor of the magazine Slovenský národopis and the moderator of the radio program Hudba sveta on Rádio_FM. In 2015, he co-founded the World Music from Slovakia platform, later hosting the Percussion Festival and World Music Festival Bratislava. His sporadic DJing was replaced by a series of popular-science lectures on the unusual musical instruments Cverna v uchu in the Cabinet of Slowness (2018 – 2019) in Nová Cvernovka and later the regular opening of Elektrohafla evenings (2019 – 2020). At the Concert for the Attentive, Mooshak will perform on his home stage and is preparing an eclectic two-hour afterparty for visitors. → read more

The Wilderness is another confirmed name of Concert for the Attentive in Nova Cvernovka. The band is an absolute proof that punk at its best is not dead. Great lyrics, excellent music and uncompromising attitudes make The Wilderness an essential band on the Slovak music scene. The Pau, an exceptional phenomenon on the Polish alternative scene is another confirmed name of Concert for the Attentive in Nova Cvernovka. Paulina performs alone, with an electric guitar and a mic. She records everything else on her own and stores it in her phone. With her modest behaviour, intense concerting and strong songs, she has gained many fans and in Poland she plays alongside the biggest names of the independent scene.  → read more

David Koller, the fundamental member of the Czecho-Slovak music scene, will perform at the Concert for the Attentive in Nova Cvernovka accompanied with his band. Koller was first active in the alternative band Jasná páka and then played in bands Žentour, Pražský výběr, and Blue Effect. In 1987 he co-founded Lucie, one of the most successful bands of Czechoslovakia. In March 2015, he released the album ČeskosLOVEnsko and in April this year, the album brought him three statuettes from the Angel Award issued by the Czech Academy of Popular Music: for the best singer, best album and band of quarter-century (Lucie). Koller in several songs of his latest album criticises the tendency of the powerful to turn to the Communist past. “I would be happy if our government didnʼt draw us the east direction”, was his message during the ceremony of the Angel Award issued by the Czech Academy of Popular Music. → read more

The pioneers of electro-oriental music Acid Arab live will also perform at Pohoda 2022. The Parisian band already stole our hearts away at Pohoda 2017. They play Eastern music on analogue rhythmic and bass boxes and create oriental acid, which is a fusion of cold techno, emotions and drama-charged orient. According to Pitchfork, their album Acid Arab Collections “is among the most enthusiastic collections of any sort of dance music to come out in recent memory.” The BBC presenter and DJ Gilles Petterson’s favourites released a great album Musique de France at the end of 2016 and in 2019 they added a new release Jdid with the band's new member, keyboardist Kenzi Bourras. They will present their new line-up and new music at the Trenčín airport in 2022.   → read more
