Re-TROS

Re-TROS

Re-TROS (full name Rebuilding the Rights of Statues) is a Beijing-based band that started as a post-punk act and then moved to more electro-kraut-dance music. Their sound can be described as “machine gun drums, crunching heavy metal guitar, and spacey synth washes”. They worked with Brian Eno on their debut EP. At the end of last year, they played as a supporting act on Depeche Mode’s European tour and at the beginning of February they opened for The xx in Beijing. At the beginning of July, they are coming to present their music to Pohoda 2018 audience. → read more

Sophie

Sophie

A Los Angeles-based UK artist Sophie is one of the most sought-after electronic dance music producers and we have a first-hand experience. It was a few years back when maestro Žltý introduced us to her interesting videos with even more interesting music. And since then we have been waiting – until this year. Sophie, previously playing her sets as a mysterious artist – now comes secret-free to Pohoda 2018. She has produced for stars such as Madonna, Vincent Staples, MØ, Nicki Minaj or Charli XCX. Her hit “Lemonade” was named one of the best singles of 2014 by The Washington Post, Resident Advisor, Complex and Pitchfork. Last fall, she used her voice in her song for the first time and, also for the first time, revealed her face in a music video. Shortly after the March European premiere of her new show in London, also thanks to the collaboration with DIY magazine, you will get a chance to see her at Pohoda, where she will make the SLSP Space Arena dance during her Live Set. → read more

Schnellertollermeier

Schnellertollermeier

Their previous album X was featured in Wall Street Journal’s “12 Best Albums of 2015”. These graduates from Swiss and Scandinavian jazz schools merge jazz, minimalism and post-rock into a new form. Schnellertollermeier destroy boundaries of genres, ideas and expectations which Rob Mallows confirms in his review for London Jazz News when he says: “they certainly made an impression on me, in much the same way a wrecking ball makes an impression on the side of a building.” Schnellertollermeier are coming to smash music boundaries at Pohoda 2018, too. → read more
