Pohoda among The Guardian and The Telegraph's Festival picks

Pohoda has been appearing in lists of best festivals in Europe or the world for some time now. While in the past, it was praised mainly by music professionals or specialized media, this year, it is being brought to the spotlight by the most prestigious UK dailiessuch as The Telegraph or The Guardian. The Telegraphmentions Pohoda in their selection of 10 best events in continental Europe that are perfect alternatives to Glastonbury. The Guardianadded Pohoda to the list of 10 of the best under-the-radar music festivals that haven’t been discovered by festivalgoers from western Europe yet, but are definitely worth visiting. → read more

A ticket purchased from vendors other than the official vendors can be stolen or fake: you will not be able to enter the festival venues with such a ticket

If you buy tickets at unofficial vendors, you may be purchasing fake and stolen tickets. This was the case of a customer who bought such a ticket on the site of a known secondary-ticketing company. You will not be able to enter the festival venues using such a ticket, and the idea of saving a few euros may mean the loss of tens of euros and may leave you before the festival gates. Entry is guaranteed only with a ticket purchased through our official vendors, the list can be found here:  www.pohodafestival.sk/sk/listky   → read more

Heartbeat

Heartbeat

It is midnight and the Uprateka (Cleaning Party) afterparty following last year’s Pohoda culminates. Some people ask our office assistant Janka to play the piano and sing something. The group around her gradually grows until they fill the entry hall and the staircase of our office at the airport. Janka attempts to leave the piano but can’t resist the constant requests to play some more covers and her own compositions. The group around the piano are temporary workers, volunteers, fans of metal and techno music, and all of them are thrilled. The offer to perform at Pohoda 2018 is delivered at about half past one in the morning and so the first requested name of the upcoming edition is one of the most successful gospel bands in Slovak, Heartbeat.   → read more

Papyllon

Papyllon

Prešov-based band Papyllon make music ranging between rock, pop, electronica and jazz. Towards the end of last summer, the band recorded their debut album in a rehearsal studio and DIY approach definitely paid off. Hudba.sk names the album a world-class piece and says: “Days and nights with pâté and bread rolls on the menu, the band recorded in impulsive premises of the old rehearsal studio, which brought unconventional massive sound.” Later in the article, the portal mentions this is a serious debut put together by mature musicians. In 15 weeks, Papyllon will be playing Pohoda 2018.   → read more

Catastrofy

Catastrofy

“Catastrofy, that’s kick-ass music with wit.” This is the Rockpalace portal’s spot-on description of an excellent thrash metal band from Devínska Nová Ves. Witty lyrics combined with more serious social themes are presented as a thoroughly oiled machine. Exceptionally fast drums and guitars are complemented with musical instruments such as fujara, Jew’s harp, tambourine or ozembuch on their debut album as well as on stage. What we appreciate in particular is that you can understand what vocalist Boris is singing. This way, Catastrofy will certainly make visitors at Pohoda 2018 move, laugh or can even scare them.     → read more
