Since their premiere at Pohoda 2014, the Israeli band Lola Marsh has come to Slovakia every year, and 2020 will be no different. The favourites of our festival-goers are releasing the expected second album at the beginning of next year. At the beginning of March, they’ll also introduce it to their fans in Tabačka in Košice, Mestské divado in Žilina, Piano Club in Trenčín and Refinery Gallery in Bratislava. All of the concerts will be supported by young talented singer from Trenčín, Nina Kohoutová. → read more

The eleventh edition of the Concert for the Attentive is moving to two exceptional venues: Umelka Gallery will host Bez ladu a skladu and Ještě jsme se nedohodli, and the club Fuga will host Chór vážskych muzikantov, The Wilderness and a world premiere of the Slovakian-Hungarian project titled Drť (Fragments). Admission fee to Umelka is 15€, to Fuga 9€ and a combo ticket to both venues, Umelka and Fuga, is priced at 19€. → read more

Alyona Savranenko, an unknown Ukrainian nursery teacher, became the biggest hip-hop sensation in the country in less than a year. In October 2018, she uploaded her first song on YouTube under the pseudonym of Alyona Alyona and today she has 167,000 subscribers on her channel and almost the same number of Instagram followers. In July, she stole our hearts away as well – on and off stage. After a fantastic concert with Atoms for Peace, Thom Yorke will return to Pohoda in 2020, this time with the Thom Yorke Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes project. Performing works spanning his solo career Thom Yorke will be joined by legendary producer Nigel Godrich, and visual artist Tarik Barri. This is the earliest confirmed big name in the history of our festival. In early August he released his third solo album Anima. According to Denník N, "he was looking for a soul and found a new beginning" on it. The newspaper further states: "Anima by Radiohead’s frontman belongs to the best you can listen to this summer." British The Telegraph rated the album with a 10/10 score and described it a bleak dystopian rhapsody that you can actually dance to. After winning in the sustainable category of the Festileaks Nederland award, Pohoda is nominated again for the UK Festival Award in the category of “Best Overseas Festival” You can support your favorite festivals by noon on the 25th of October. Pohoda 2019 also featured the Grammy Award winners Morgan Heritage. The band was founded in 1994 by five children of the famous Jamaican reggae artist Denroy Morgan. They won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for their records Strictly Roots (2015) and Avrakedabra (2018). The photographer from .týždeň, Boris Németh received the price for Slovak Press Photo 2019. We are also very pleased that he won the category of “World of Arts and Culture” thanks to an excellent series of photos at Pohoda festival named “Magic of Pohoda”. In the same category, but with a separate photograph, the first place was taken by our festival photographer Michal Babinčák for a photo from his Vogue series. Among the finalists was another of our in-house photographers Michal Augustini for his picture “Are you sure?” from The Prodigy concert at the Alexandra Palace, London. The main prize went to photographer Jozef Jakubčo for the series entitled “Night with the President”.
