Concert for Ukraine

Concert for Ukraine

This Sunday, 27th February, we are holding the Concert for Ukraine/Концерт для України on Bratislava’s Main Square. “With this concert, we want to show our solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The liberal arts are developing best in free countries, and we know that our friends in Ukraine are trying to do the same. Every year, great artists from Ukraine perform at Pohoda, we receive representatives of their media, we have many visitors and great relationships with promoters from Ukraine. We want to let them all know also this way that we are with them in these difficult times. By the way, it is clear that if a similar attack concerned Slovakia, one of the first targets would be the Trenčín airport, which is also used for many civilian activities, including our festival,” says Michal Kaščák. → read more

Otoboke Beaver at Pohoda 2022

Otoboke Beaver at Pohoda 2022

Pohoda 2022 will also have Japanese punk rockers Otoboke Beaver. As one of their fans, Dave Grohl, aptly said: “It’ll blow your mind, dude. It’s the most fucking intense shit you’ve ever seen.” The band formed at a music club near the University of Kyoto and got their name from the local “love hotel”. They mix garage rock with Japanese pop and the Riot Grrrl approach. They are characterized by frequent rhythm changes, “gang vocals”, and strong lyrics about the relationships and status of women.  → read more

Tickets for 109 € on sale until 22nd February 2022, afterwards the price for the visitors above 26 years will rise to 129 €

We believe that in less than a half a year we will meet at the Trenčin airport in full capacity. Due to a significant rise in prices of the energies, work, artist fees and other production costs as well as rising inflation we are forced to increase the ticket price. You can still buy the three-day ticket for 109 € until 22.2.2022. Afterwards the ticket for the visitors above 26 years will cost 129 €. Price of the Junior, Kids and PwD/PwD-C tickets will remain unchanged as well as the other tickets (parking, caravan, ...).   → read more

Fulu Miziki Kolektiv at Pohoda 2022

Fulu Miziki Kolektiv at Pohoda 2022

Those who experienced Fulu Miziki at Pohoda on the Ground will probably not be surprised that we wanted to bring them to the “big” Pohoda as soon as possible. We are very glad that it will come true already this summer, and not only because they released a great debut EP Ngbaka, praised also by Pitchfork, a few days ago. Even without the praises of renowned critics, we have seen what makes this band special. Their concerts have a relaxed atmosphere, large portions of creativity and improvisations, cheerful fresh music, and positive energy they spread from the stage.   → read more

Grammy winner Flume to make Pohoda dance as well

Visitors of Pohoda 2022 will dance also to the music of the Grammy 2017 winner for the best electronic album, Australian DJ and producer Flume. A pioneer and populariser of the future bass genre, he has also a member of the duo What So Not and collaborated with a number of names such as Lorde, Chet Faker, Disclosure, Tove Lo, and London Grammar. He became one of Australia’s biggest stars with his debut Flume, and gained the worldwide success with the album Skin, which The Independent described as the audio equivalent of ecstasy. At the beginning of February, he released the song “Say Nothing” as a teaser for his third album Palaces, which will be out on the 20th May, and visitors to Pohoda will be among the first to hear it. What can they expect from him live? The 303 magazine wrote after his concert at Red Rocks: “A breath-taking odyssey of light and music.” We have been trying to book Flume for years, since our external consultant Robo Brieška told us about him. We are glad that it finally worked out. We are sure that this will be a fantastic end to the Friday’s line-up on the main stage.” → read more

Kokoroko at Pohoda 2022

Kokoroko at Pohoda 2022

You can look forward also to afrobeat at Pohoda 2022, performed by the London band Kokoroko. The winners of the Band of the Year category at the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and Urban Music Awards became popular thanks to the compilation We Out Here. Clearly most distinctive of the selection of contemporary London jazz bands is the poetic song “Abusey Junction” by the, until then, relatively unknown band Kokoroko, which immediately sky-rocketed and now is reaching 100 million hearings on Spotify and YouTube. At the beginning of 2019, they released an eponymous EP, which was also brought to attention by The Guardian and The Line of the Best Fit. Last year they added dance singles “Baba Ayoola” and “Cary Me Home” and just yesterday they announced a new piece “Something's Going On”. The ethereal song with a twinkling promise of a new era is a teaser for the upcoming album, and this all-star band will delight with it the visitors to the Trenčín airport in just five months. → read more

Molchat Doma at Pohoda 2022

Molchat Doma at Pohoda 2022

The Pohoda 2022 line-up will have Belarussan band Molchat Doma. Dark yet danceable, and with a heavy dose of goth ethos, their music is reminiscent of the Russian bands from the 1980s. The song “Sudno” was long one of the top viral songs on Spotify and Tik_tok, and the band usually plays to packed clubs in London, Warsaw, Helsinki, and Berlin. At the beginning of July, they will cheer fans of the post-punk, new-wave and synth-pop genres at the Trenčín airport. → read more
