The musical Peter a Lucia (Pierre and Luce) was a cooperation of Dežo Ursíny, Jaro Filip, Alta Vášová, and Ján Štrasser. Ursíny recorded the music on a tape that was discovered by his son Jakub after his father had passed away. Jakub Ursíny, Dorota Nvotová, and Talent Transport have elaborated a concert form of the musical and, in the occasion of Dezider Ursínyʼs 70th birthday, they will present it at its festival premiere at Pohoda 2017.   → read more

We’re adding routes to Pohoda commuter service

We’re adding routes to Pohoda commuter service

Commuter bus service will connect the airport with towns and villages in Trenčín region. Apart from Považská Bystrica and Trenčianske Teplice and Piešťany  we are adding route and Bánovce nad Bebravou. Each festival day, your bus will take you to the entrance for pedestrians (GATE B). When program ends on the main stages, the bus will be waiting for you right in front of the main stage. We will soon launch special train ticket sale as well. The special festival express train will be dispatched from two biggest cities in cooperation with our eco-friendly partner Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko (Slovak Railway Company). → read more

Solange Knowles has received the 2017 Webby Award in the category of Special Achievement - Webby Artist of the Year. “Not only is Solange one of the greatest artists of our time, but she’s also a true artist of the online generation,” the official statement says. Etgar Keret at Pohoda 2017

Pohoda 2017 will host also the Israeli writer and screenwriter Etgar Keret, who is known for his unique black humour and up-to-date stories. Abroad, his books have been translated into 31 languages and many have become best sellers. In addition to many literary awards, he has been awarded Camera d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for his directorial debut Jellyfish. In the Slovak language, his collections of short stories have been published: Suddenly, a Knock on the Door (2012) and Seven Good Years (2014). Etgar Keret was supposed to come to Pohoda already in 2014, but due to the worsened security situation in Israel he did not appear. During his exclusive visit to Pohoda, he will present his new collection of short stories he has compiled specifically for Artforum. Ho99o9's debut United States of Horror is no less successful. You can listen to their crazy selection of noise genres of the last 30 years on the album or feel its energy live at Pohoda 2017. Today, a reedition of Rodrigo y Gabriela (Deluxe Edition) album has been released as well. Apart from remastered versions, it also features their live performance from the Dublin Olympia Theatre. In cooperation with Rádio_FM, on 17th of May we will hold the largest Pohoda Day_FM ever. From 8AM to 10PM, Dillon, Electro Guzzi, B-Complex, Katarína Máliková, Saténové ruky, Nvmeri, Tolstoys, Changing Faces, Panáčik, and Barcode DJs will perform in three concert studios. In the premiere, we will present the documentary “20 Years of Pohoda”, poetry will also be a part of the event (Slam Poetry, Čaj o piatej, Dano Majling), as well as dance workshops with Muzička and Fero and Barbora Morong, table football tournament and a press conference with news about Pohoda 2017. → read more

Zygar, Keret and other celebrities in the Literary Tent of Martinus

Martinus bookstore In cooperation with literarnyklub.sk will again bring to Pohoda a wide selection of great literature, discussions with authors, readings, workshops, and, last but not least, the delicious offer of Foxford café. This year, too, you will be able to enjoy the famous and popular formats such as Slam Poetry, LiteRAPtúra, and the presentation of this year's Anasoft Litera finalists. The main star of the programme will be the Russian journalist Mikhail Zygar, the author of All the Kremlin's Men published in Slovakia by Absynt. In addition to him, we can look forward to the Israeli writer Etgar Keret, while other guests are no less interesting: Irena Brežná (Anasoft Litera finalist) and two Magnesia Litera winners—Marek Šindelka and Martin Reiner.
