Pohoda as a festival of art, science, and services

Pohoda as a festival of art, science, and services

The construction of Pohoda will begin by marking out its area at the Trenčín airport as early as in two days. In addition to the art festival, there will also be a festival of services held in almost three hundred facilities, with our partners making a significant contribution to it. Without them, Pohoda could not be such an interesting place to meet music, literature, theatre, dance, debates, and visual arts, and it would not be able to offer this very wide range of services. Recently, a strong scientific programme has been added to all of that. → read more

Moldava: 6 years later (discussion, exhibition, and concert)

Moldava: 6 years later (discussion, exhibition, and concert)

Six years ago, the operation of special forces in a Romani settlement near Moldava nad Bodvou resulted in 30 injured people. 60 policemen with dogs took part in the operation named “100”, yet the Interior Ministryʼs inspection assessed it to be appropriate. On the contrary, the attacked Romani, who witnessed the case, were charged with perjury. The legal inquiry is already in the hands of the judges of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Zuzana Wienk, activist Lydia Šuchová, and Roman Kvasnica, the legal representative of the attacked Romani, will talk about the genesis of the case in Optimistan. We will also commemorate this event with the exhibition of photographs by Tomáš Halász and the joint concert of bands Chalani z chatrče and Gipsy centrum, both from Moldava, in Café Kušnierik. → read more

Trio Mandili will replace Sho Madjozi

Trio Mandili will replace Sho Madjozi

Trio Mandili, a musical miracle from Georgia, will replace Sho Madjozi who had to cancel her concert at Pohoda. The group's story is a modern Caucasian fairy tale. Three friends would sing polyphonic Georgian songs during a walk in the village. They recorded one of these "singing" walks on a mobile phone, uploaded it on YouTube and another viral phenomenon was born. Nowadays, the band has 900,000 followers on Facebook, millions views and a quarter of a million video subscribers on YouTube.   → read more
