Midi Lidi: The greatest hits unplugged

Midi Lidi: The greatest hits unplugged

Pohoda in the Air will also host darlings of our team, Midi Lidi. After the Give Masterpiece a Chance! album, they recorded music to many movies such as Prezident Blaník, Trash on Mars Soundtrack, Divoké bytosti and Republika Blaník, and in January they again started recording songs for their new album (during 2 weeks they worked on approximately 40 tracks) – first songs are Nejsi v tom sám and Hemmennex. Whether the new tracks will be a part of their set list at Pohoda in the Air next week remains unclear, as title of their concert is: Major hits unplugged. → read more

Veľká Potreba at Pohoda in the Air

Veľká Potreba at Pohoda in the Air

Veľká Potreba first performed at Pohoda in 2017 on the Garage stage as a couple of artificial-fabric-wearing punk rockers combining guitar riffs with robotic beats and a plastic trombone. The band has since played several concerts in various countries and expanded by three members. The bigger formation has debuted with V rohu a few weeks ago. With its childish precision, naive nihilism, and a sense for generalization, the album anatomizes the desires and frustrations of the individual in meeting their daily needs. In just a few days, they will play songs from their debut live at the on-line festival Pohoda in the Air. → read more

Drť at Pohoda in the Air

Drť at Pohoda in the Air

One of the non-traditional venues of Pohoda in the Air will be a military radar locator. Here, Slovak-Hungarian band Drť will play songs from the album Puntičkár. The author of the project is the composer and saxophonist Miroslav Tóth, also known for his collaboration with the Kronos Quartet. The band also includes other well-known musicians—composer Lucia Chuťková, Marek Buranovský (Vojdi), Márton Csernovszky (The Best Bad Trip), Áron Porteleki (Thisnis, Dorota), and Michal Kaščák (Bez ladu a skladu). The songs are muzicalization of the statements of the former head of the State Security Service, Alojz Lorenc, and the stylization was taken care of by Marek Kundlák and they are dedicated to the victims of persecution, repression, and murders of the communist regime. → read more

Fulu Miziki at Pohoda in the Air

Fulu Miziki at Pohoda in the Air

We discovered the band Fulu Miziki from Kinshasa literally a few days ago; we quickly fell for their ability to find inspiration in a dump and transform it into a unique artistic statement. Fulu Miziki means “music from the garbage” in the local Lingala language. The collective of these multidisciplinary artists creates instruments from waste and tirelessly discovers new possibilities of sound in them. They also make original masks and costumes from thrown away items.  → read more

Noisecore band 7 minút strachu will also play at Pohoda in the Air. They’ve played 111 concerts and released 77 records with labels from around the world, mostly on tapes and vinyls. In addition to Central Europe they also played in America, Japan and South Korea. Their line-up includes drums, bass, sew and screamo. In their own words, they play classic haraam merzb'n roll mixed with Ulaanbaatar freejazz. Before their gig in Kubík, Consumeanddie collective wrote aptly about them: "Who released the most songs, separate albums and destroyed the most eardrums in Slovakia? These guys. 7 minutes in their name are not just for fun. They really play for 7 minutes. They can't do it longer, because no one would survive." → read more
