Boy Wonder at Pohoda 2022

Boy Wonder at Pohoda 2022

After a strong concert at last year’s Pohoda on the Ground festival, rapper and producer Boy Wonder will perform for the first time at our full festival version. At the beginning of March, he gradually released single “Batman”, a currently very resonating song “Celkom horúce leto”, and song “Človek z planéty Zem”, all from his new album Jeseň 2015: Človek z planéty Zem. He kept the fans waiting for the album ten long years, but last Friday he repaid them for their patience with a 23-track load, which he described as follows: “This is no comeback. Everything is as it should be and exactly in its place. It is about me, it is pretty personal and I have decided to share it with you. My private space odyssey.” → read more

Alyona Alyona at Pohoda 2022

Alyona Alyona at Pohoda 2022

This week we will bring 7 new, hip hop names of Pohoda 2022. We start symbolically—from Ukraine, our neighbouring country invaded by Putin’s Russia, is coming Alyona Alyona. She currently works as a volunteer at a pharmacy in her hometown of Baryshevka, located just 30 kilometers east of Kyiv. Most of her team, including DJ Nikolay, lives in the capital of Ukraine. Former kindergarten teacher, Alyona Alyona gave a great concert already at Pohoda 2019 and we are honored to have her back. She is praised by journalists from The Independent, Vogue, The New York Times, and Forbes, who in 2020 included her in the prestigious list of the 30 most influential European artists under 30. She won the award for emerging stars Anchor Awards at Reeperbahn 2019 and the Music Moves Europe Talent Award as well as the Public Choice Award at last year’s Eurosonic. She has hundreds of thousands of followers and her videos have tens of millions of views. She has recently changed the preview image of her most viewed songs on YouTube to a picture with a single message: “While you are watching this video, people are dying in Ukraine due to Russian attacks. Stop it!”. → read more

Let us introduce music quota. Ukrainian music quota.

Let us introduce music quota. Ukrainian music quota.

Now, every penny truly counts on the Ukrainian scene, every euro on the account of Ukrainian musicians will help deal with the consequences of the war waged by the Putin regime. I have always been against music quota on radios. However, positive discrimination makes sense if it is to help those who really need it. The reasons may vary, one of them being social exclusion. The Slovak scene is in a shape that does not require any similar support mechanisms. We do not suffer somewhere on the margins, there are no obstacles for which we would need an active administrative intervention from the state that would bind private companies to its fulfilment. I am familiar with the points of people who defend quota. Yet I do not consider any of them relevant and such that would improve our music scene. I marvel at the hurt attitude of our musicians complaining about too much foreign music in the media. → read more

Concert for Ukraine

Concert for Ukraine

This Sunday, 27th February, we are holding the Concert for Ukraine/Концерт для України on Bratislava’s Main Square. “With this concert, we want to show our solidarity with the people of Ukraine. The liberal arts are developing best in free countries, and we know that our friends in Ukraine are trying to do the same. Every year, great artists from Ukraine perform at Pohoda, we receive representatives of their media, we have many visitors and great relationships with promoters from Ukraine. We want to let them all know also this way that we are with them in these difficult times. By the way, it is clear that if a similar attack concerned Slovakia, one of the first targets would be the Trenčín airport, which is also used for many civilian activities, including our festival,” says Michal Kaščák. → read more

Otoboke Beaver at Pohoda 2022

Pohoda 2022 will also have Japanese punk rockers Otoboke Beaver. As one of their fans, Dave Grohl, aptly said: “It’ll blow your mind, dude. It’s the most fucking intense shit you’ve ever seen.” The band formed at a music club near the University of Kyoto and got their name from the local “love hotel”. They mix garage rock with Japanese pop and the Riot Grrrl approach. They are characterized by frequent rhythm changes, “gang vocals”, and strong lyrics about the relationships and status of women.  → read more

Tickets for 109 € on sale until 22nd February 2022, afterwards the price for the visitors above 26 years will rise to 129 €

We believe that in less than a half a year we will meet at the Trenčin airport in full capacity. Due to a significant rise in prices of the energies, work, artist fees and other production costs as well as rising inflation we are forced to increase the ticket price. You can still buy the three-day ticket for 109 € until 22.2.2022. Afterwards the ticket for the visitors above 26 years will cost 129 €. Price of the Junior, Kids and PwD/PwD-C tickets will remain unchanged as well as the other tickets (parking, caravan, ...).   → read more
