DJ Shadow

DJ Shadow is a pioneer of instrumental hip-hop, turntablism, trip-hop, and sampling. In his work, he uses a large sound bank and personal collection of more than 60,000 recordings. The Time magazine ranked his album Endtroducing among the 100 greatest albums of all times and Pitchfork placed on the seventh place in the ranking of 100 greatest albums of the 90s. The album has also a recording in the Guinness Book of Records as the first completely sampled album. On 6th July 2015, he began work on the fifth solo album; it will be released 24th June this year. Róisín Murphy

Róisín rose to fame in the nineties as a singer of the band Moloko and had world famous hits “Sing It Back” and “The Time is Now”. After the breakup of the band, she started her solo career, which brought her the recognition of critics, and she became the first lady of electro-pop. Róisín with her extravagant sense of fashion paved the way for singers like Lady Gaga. Hairless Toys, her third studio album, was produced by Eddie Stevens, Jana Kirschnerʼs spouse. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize, it received the average rating of 80% on Metacritic, and The Guardian wrote about it as of pure stimulating elegance. → read more

This year's Pohoda Deň_FM is bringing great concerts in the studio no. 5 of the Slovak Radio and several novelties of the 20th edition of Pohoda will be announced there. Visitors will be able to see the magic pieces of the magician Talostan and listen to the music of the Slovenian experimenter Lifecutter, DJs Rafo & Pure, Núku, DJ Gabanna and Billy Barman. The Tap Tap

The Tap Tap

The Czech big band The Tap Tap has released three studio albums and two “live albums” recorded in the Czech State Opera House. The band has collaborated with artists such as Vojta Dyk, Xindl X, Dan Bárta, David Koller, and many others. The video for their great satirical song “Ředitel autobusu” (Director of the Bus; based on the personal experience of one of the band members) has five million YouTube views. Nowadays you can see the band in the performance “The Tap Tap: Nefňuká” (The Tap Tap does not Whimper) on the New Stage of the Czech National Theatre and at Pohoda 2016 at the beginning of July. → read more
