Jana Kirschner komorne at Koncert pre všímavých

Jana Kirschner Komorne offers the selection of the two-decade work of our most successful singer in the beautiful arrangements of the Spectrum Quartett under the baton of Ján Kružliak. Patrik Marflák from Hudba.sk wrote in a review of this concert: "The goal is not to bring music and singing to the fans "as if from the CD" but to give them an authentic and unrepeatable experiences." These words were confirmed by Jana Kirschner at this year's Pohoda and we are sure that the fantastic performance is awaiting the attendees of the Concert for the Attentive. → read more

Pražský výběr at Koncert pre všímavých

The legendary Pražský výběr will also perform at the Concert for the Attentive. The dissident past of the group formed around Michael Kocáb made them famous, however, they’ve collected the most distinct concert achievements in the recent years. In 2016 they played the biggest solo concert with the symphony in the sold out O2 Arena and they opened the Prague concert of the Rolling Stones in July this year. You can see them this Saturday in Refinery Gallery in Bratislava. → read more

Ho99o9 at Koncert pre všímavých

American hip-hop group Ho99o9 will also perform at the Concert for the Attentive at Refinery Gallery. Their concerts offer a crazy selection of the "noisy" genres over the past 30 years and they belonged among the highlights of the 20th and 21st year of Pohoda. The Guardian or Rolling Stone journalists have also sung praises about the New Jersey duo and called their performance a high-octane show. Drowned in Sound went even further in using superlatives when they described their 2016 Pohoda concert with the following words: "But Band of the Festival, and authors of one the most enthralling, confrontational sets you’re ever like to see, are Ho99o9. They don’t just blow everyone else away; they unleash a hurricane of noise and madness that scoops up everyone in earshot and dumps them down, later, battered, bruised, but manically grinning from ear to ear." You can come and see with your own eyes this Saturday in Bratislava.   → read more

The opening act of Anna Calvi concert will be B-Complex

The opening act of the Anna Calvi concert in Nová Cvernovka on Monday will be B-Complex. Slovak producer and DJ became successful mainly thanks to the tracks released via Hospital Records. She has millions of song streams as well as countless live performances in Europe and beyond under her belt. Her Drum & Bass merges elements of liquid and heavier drum and bass components. In her music and activities, she supports tolerance and defends minorities. For example in her song “Past Lessons for the Future” where she sampled words by an important Czech actor and man Jan Werich. The track became “The Single of year 2016” in the Radio_Head Awards poll.  Tickets: www.pohodafestival.sk/en/product/anna-calvi-in-nova-cvernovka → read more

In the Newcomer of the Year category, we were pleased with the presence of excellent representatives of the heavier genres – Idles and Zeal & Ardor – who our festival attenders could have seen live, too. → read more

21 Slovak and Czech artists to play Eurosonic 2019 revealed

21 Slovak and Czech artists to play Eurosonic 2019 revealed

Eurosonic 2019 represents the biggest opportunity in our history to showcase Slovak and Czech music. At the beginning of this year, the organizers of the most prestigious European showcase festival decided that the next edition would focus on music from our region. More than 200 bands from our countries applied on Eurosonic’s website by the end of August 2018. 133 applications were sent from Slovakia. This was indeed a challenging task for the main festival booker as, based on what he said, this meant not only to go through a huge quantity of applications, but, most of all, to decide among exceptionally talented artists. Instead of 16 promised spots, Eurosonic decided to give a chance to 21 artists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The following artists from Slovakia will be playing Groningen, The Netherlands, in January: Isama Zing, Autumnist, Katarína Máliková, Tittingur, Nvmeri, B-Complex, Our Stories, The Ills, Thisnis and Möbius. The Czech music scene will be represented by Hellwana, Thom Artway, Bohemian Cristal Instrument, Zabelov Group, Lazer Viking, Lenny, Circus Brothers, Manon Meurt, Floex + Tom Hodge, Pipes And Pints and Mydy Rabycad. → read more
