Trenčín Chamber Orchestra

Trenčín Chamber Orchestra

Trenčín Chamber Orchestra interprets mostly older music of the Baroque period. At their performance at Pohoda, in addition to Baroque concertos by Vivaldi and Telemann, they will also play the wonderful works of more contemporary music: Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances and Hajdu dances by Vladimír Godár.

06. June 2016

Trenčín Chamber Orchestra continued the over three hundred year tradition of rich musical life in the area. In 26 years of its existence, they have given a number of concerts in Slovak towns and abroad (Sweden, France, Switzerland...). Very important for the direction of orchestra is the cooperation with Peter Zajíček, the head of the old music ensemble Musica Aeterna. Currently, the concertmaster and artistic director of the orchestra is Róbert Zemene.

The orchestra has also had a number of less traditional forms of cooperation, such as the one with the GUnaGU theatre, when they cooperated on V. Klimáčekʼs musical "Láska", the one with the wind orchestra L'Union Musicale de Cran-Gevrier at rock concerts, or the cooperation on a Jewish songs project...
