The winner of the 6th Pohoda Visual Art Contest is Andrej Kolenčík

The Pohoda Visual Art Contest jury decided to evaluate both the proposals for material and on-line art. The winner of the 6th edition of the contest is Andrej Kolenčík and his project “Coming Soon”. The intention of this short ecologically engaged video is to evoke in the viewer a worrying feeling about the future and to provoke a disputation about the topic with the controversial execution of the video. The fate of the twins as a symbol of the next generation will be unclear and untold. What is the future of our children in the current functioning of the world?

Andrej focuses on several media in his work. In 2009, he graduated from the Department of Animated Film at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and has completed semestral internships at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design and the Belgian RITS. His latest projects include directing the sci-fi documentary series for children “Mohyla” about Milan Rastislav Štefánik for RTVS and the international graphic campaign Green Screen, which aims to draw the attention of filmmakers to ecological filming. Since 2015, he has been active under his own brand Admiral Films (www.kolencik.org).
