The Concert for Ukraine will feature performances by Alyona Alyona, Berlin Manson, Kharkiv Choir, FVLCRVM, Karpatské chrbáty, VBPS, and DJ Matwe
More than two years after the military invasion of Ukraine, the third edition of the Concert for Ukraine is set to take place in Bratislava on Sunday, February 25. This year's venue will be Primate's Square and Fuga Club in Bratislava.
14. February 2024
Ukrainian rapper Alyona Alyona, the representative for Ukraine at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Berlin Manson, and the Choir of the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of Mykola Lysenko will grace the stage at Primate's Square. Fuga Club will host artists who recently performed at the Pohoda Loves Ukraine festival in Kyiv – FVLCRVM, Karpatské chrbáty, with DJ Matwe closing out the programme.
The event is organised by Pohoda Festival, which, alongside the general public, aims to express solidarity with our eastern neighbors. Simultaneously, it seeks to support Ukrainian artists facing limited opportunities to perform in their home country.
"It's going to be a powerful concert. From the classics of the fantastic Kharkiv Choir, who also include Slovak works in their repertoire, to the energetic synthpunk of the band Berlin Manson, and the rap of the great Alyona Alyona. I hope as many of us as possible will gather in the square – it's crucial to show that the majority of Slovak citizens have their hearts in the right place and are not indifferent to the suffering of people in war-torn Ukraine," adds Michal Kaščák, Pohoda CEO, about the event.
The programme at Primate's Square kicks off at 5 p.m. and is free for the public.
The programme at Fuga Club starts at 8 p.m., and the proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to the Music Saves UA initiative, providing humanitarian aid to people in Ukraine.
Martin Staňo will host the concert on the square.
The event is under the auspices of the Mayor of Bratislava, Matúš Vallo.
