Several performers of Pohoda 2021 and their albums scored in the end-year selections of renowned media. Yves Tumor was on fire – his album Heaven To A Tortured Mind was praised by Pitchfork, Guardian, DIY but also by the Czech magazine Fullmoon or Radio_FM. DIY also highlighted Crack Cloud’s new album and NME added Black Country, New Road to their list of the essential new artists. Several performers of previous editions our festival scored as well, such as Róisín Murphy (Róisín Machine), This Is the Kit (Off Off On), Thundercat (It Is What It Is), Everything Everything (RE-ANIMATOR) Jessie Ware (What's Your Pleasure?) Thurston Moore (BY The Fire) and Lianne La Havas with her third self-titled album.

Yves Tumor’s album Heaven To A Tortured Mind released last April, conquered a place in several of The Best Albums of 2020-charts. According to www.albumoftheyear.org/list/summary/2020/ they reached the 14th place when making the total aftermath of music reviews published.
The Guardian describes the Heaven To A Tortured Mind album as “This was the biggest and best statement yet from the sort of irreverent, box-resistant talent that makes pop culture truly pop”.
FullMoon wraps it up as: “The affection for rock and roll clichés applies, as does the pursuit of straightforward melodies full of R&B, soul or gospel, all immersed in intoxicatingly psychedelic production. Is it a bait for new listeners, part of an image or a speculative game? In fact, it doesn't matter much. You say Kravitz? We call it Prince!”
Also Radio_FM list Yves Tumor’s album among the best foreign Albums of 2020, under albums of artists that previously played Pohoda as Jessie Warre - What’s Your Pleasure?, Michael Kiwanuka - Kiwanuka. The same chart also features the albums Glass Animals - Dreamland and Liraz - Zan. Liraz also performed serveral songs of her new album during Pohoda in the Air & can be watched here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y71oJzmNYas.
NME focussed on a list with 100 essential new artists for 2020 including Black Country, New Road, and this is why you’re going to love them:
“Listening to Black Country, New Road is an emotional rollercoaster. On second single ‘Sunglasses’, Wood delivers lines that seem throwaway – “Mother is juicing watermelons on the breakfast island” – until you’re sucker-punched by the scattering of poignant detail: walls of photographs, frail hands, and a “future that I am in no way part of,” all backed up by the arrival of saxophone and violin. By the time they’ve lured you into a motorik Krautrock workout that swells to nine minutes, it’s somehow still over way too soon.”
