Polemic feat. Dr. Ring Ding

Polemic played the very first Pohoda and also performed at the festival within Pohoda 97 Project last year. After the concert, the band were mainly singing Pohoda festival-goers’ praises. According to these musicians, “Slovak language is not rich enough to describe the audience: to use the word ecstasy is not enough.” We’re glad that the local ska fixture will be performing in front of the best audience now that they are celebrating 30 years on the scene. At Pohoda, they will be playing their exclusive show with the ska legend, German trombonist and producer Dr. Ring Ding and other guests. They will also be playing new material from the upcoming album.

Their first albums Do Ska, Yahman! and Gangster-ska brought singles many of us associate with summer and summer festivals (“Baba ryba,” “Ona je taká,” “Komplikovaná,” “Ja som to vedel,” “Ako to prežijem”). Their live performances are definitely their strongest point. And they know it as this is also reflected on the number of gigs they play. During their shows, Polemic have taught thousands of people who usually do not listen to ska to love this genre. 10 gentlemen with original outfits and dance creations have been entertaining people for three decades already.

“Each fan who experienced concerts at Pohoda with us knows how unique Pohoda atmosphere is. Now, we are coming to play a show together with Dr. Ring Ding and are already looking forward to that gig. We hope that, again, we will only be using superlatives to describe our concert experience,” Peter Opet says about the upcoming show. His colleague Michal Mickey Novácky adds: “Every single concert I played at Pohoda with Polemic was a unique personal experience for me in terms of the atmosphere and almost magical symbiosis between the band and the audience. I’m already looking forward to experiencing it again.” Polemic are one of the most active bands we have, which can also be supported by the fact that they will be entertaining visitors at our festival for the eleventh time.
