Pohoda Leads With the Most Nominations at Prestigious European Festival Awards
Pohoda Festival is celebrating an extraordinary international achievement, receiving four nominations at the prestigious European Festival Awards. Alongside Belgium's Rock Werchter, it tops the list as the most nominated festival in Europe. The nominations were announced today by the organisers of the European Festival Awards, with the winners set to be revealed on 15 January 2025 during a gala ceremony at the Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) showcase festival in Groningen, the Netherlands.

After last year’s victory in the BEST MEDIUM-SIZED FESTIVAL category, Pohoda has once again been named among the top ten European festivals with a capacity of 10,000 to 39,999 attendees. In the initial round of voting, festival goers from across Europe cast their votes, followed by a professional jury that narrowed down the final shortlist to 10, and will also decide the ultimate winners. In addition to this category, Pohoda has also received three further nominations: Take A Stand Award, Brand Activation, and New Kid On The Block, all determined by music industry professionals.

“We are celebrating another major success at Pohoda – earning four nominations at the European Festival Awards is incredible news for the Slovak music scene,” said festival director Michal Kaščák, reflecting on the highest number of nominations in Pohoda’s history. “We’re thrilled about all of them and are especially delighted that the professional festival community has recognised our efforts – from Pohoda 2024 itself, to highlighting our partnerships, the Pohoda Loves Ukraine concert, and the nomination of Andrea Blahová from our team. We’re grateful and extend our congratulations to everyone involved, especially our amazing fans, who have shown us an incredible wave of support and solidarity this year, ultimately securing us a spot on the longlist for the Best Medium-Sized Festival award with their votes. We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony; even being nominated is a huge honour and joy for us,” adds Michal Kaščák.
The Take A Stand Award nomination acknowledges Pohoda for organising the first international music festival in Kyiv since the war in Ukraine began. Held in January 2024, the event was a collaboration with Music Saves Ukraine. Meanwhile, Pohoda team member Adrea Blahová has been shortlisted for the New Kid On The Block category, which recognises young professionals under 30 in key festival roles. As Artist Hospitality Manager at this year’s Pohoda, Andrea oversaw all catering for the festival’s performers.
Another standout initiative from Pohoda this year was “YAZDA,” a project focused on providing the most eco-friendly transportation for festival goers. In collaboration with YAKSHA, the cycling club theziletky.cc, and brands Isador and MTBIKER, Pohoda organised a bike peloton from Bratislava to Trenčín Airport. “YAZDA” was selected as one of the six most creative sponsorship initiatives at European festivals this year.
