Pohoda among Top festival picks according to Gigwise, Humo and Mixmag

Pohoda strengthens its international reputation appearing in another batch of top festival lists put together by renowned media. British music portal Gigwise, Belgian culture magazine Humo, German music portal Tonspion list our festival in their top picks and the French Mixmag published an article named “5 Reasons Why Pohoda Is One of the Best Festivals in Europe”. This is happening just a few weeks after Pohoda made it to the lists revealed by dailies The Guardian, The Telegraph and Metro and appeared in the report by British music portal The 405. The reasons why our festival appears in these lists makes us even happier than the fact that it’s been selected: uncompromising line-up, top service, amazing orchestration and atmosphere and, most of all, fantastic friendly visitors.

Gogwise – The 39 best music festivals in the world in 2018

Solid all-rounder in the mid-European, mid-sized festival stakes, Pohoda – meaning, roughly, ‘wellbeing’ – this year welcomes big name talent from St. Vincent to The Chemical Brothers, Ziggy Marley to Glass Animals plus our own beloved Everything Everything and Blossoms. Last year the organisers won an award for sustainability, which is always nice, and with their thoughtful and diverse theatre and chin-scratching lecture programme, reliably baking-hot weather, friendly atmosphere, chilled vibe and keenly-priced local beer means we can’t really recommend this one highly enough. Go. Camp. Meet nice people. Enjoy.

MIXMAG (FR) – Five Reasons Which Make Pohoda One of the Best Festivals in Europe
Slovakia will be hosting artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Danny Brown and Aurora

BRILLIANT LINE UP
For the past two years, Pohoda has been nominated for the European Festival Awards in the category of “Lineup of the Year”. This year, the bill features several interesting names again: The Chemical Brothers, Jamie Cullum, St. Vincent, LP, Ziggy Marley, Glass Animals, Jessie Ware, Danny Brown, Little Dragon, SOJA, Rodriguez, Aurora and the geniuses of classical music, Kronos Quartet. At Pohoda, you can find alternative music, indie, electronica, jazz world music and punk alongside classical music.

AMAZING SETTING
Imagine sitting on the grass with friends, listening to your favorite music, having a beer in your hands (in a reusable cup). A perfect day where music makes the scenery of the Western Carpathians complete. You enjoy an incredible view of the Trenčín Castle right from the venue. A castle, which is well worth visiting either before or after festival. Slovakia has a lot more to offer, though: nature of The High Tatras, Slovak Paradise Natural Park, breath-taking caves or picturesque historical towns such as Banská Štiavnica, Levoča or Bardejov which are part of UNESCO World Heritage.

A BUDGET-FRIENDLY FESTIVAL
Let’s have a closer look at Pohoda prices: 99 euros for a three-day festival pass, free camping, showers, flush toilets, 1.60 € for a pint in 2017, free charger spots and a number of stalls with tasty and indeed cheap food. Pohoda is a lot cheaper than the majority of French festivals even if you include travel expenses.

SPACIOUS AND PLEASANT
Pohoda never feels cramped: it takes place in a spacious airfield with a limited capacity of 30,000 visitors and enough space for everyone. You don’t have to go to your fav artist’s gig a half an hour prior to the show. There’s plenty room everywhere even if you get to the stage 5 minutes before the gig. Pohoda is also a very pleasant festival suitable for families with kids offering a separate camping site for them. Festival visitors are kind and friendly: at the age of 0 to 99 they all enjoy the fest together.

ECO-FRIENDLY
According to the European Festival Awards, Pohoda is the most environmental-friendly festival in Europe. It’s in the event’s nature to protect the environment where it takes place. The organizational team as well as the visitors behave responsibly also outside of the festival site. Green solutions for 2018: biodegradable dishes that are being composted directly on the spot, a mobile solar power station and solar lighting, special trains, reusable cups, waste sorting stations and eco-friendly merch.

See you between 5 and 7 July with Helena Hauff, Danny Brown and The Chemical Brothers.
