PJ Harvey released the album Hope Six Demolition Project
PJ Harvey has been the only one to win the prestigious Mercury Prize twice. Last time she succeeded five years ago with the album Let England Shake. Her ninth studio album, therefore, is among the most anticipated recordings of the year.
15. April 2016
She recorded The Hope Six Demolition Project before the eyes of the public in an improvised studio in Somerset House. The recording also reflects the journey she took with photographer Seamus Murphy that brought them to Afghanistan, Kosovo, and Washington D.C. Oliver Rehák of Denník N writes: “If in the previous album she wanted to shake England and discussed its involvement in historical disputes, this album could really be called “Let America Shake”. According to Pitchfork, regardless of the difficult socio-political orientation, it is one of her most exciting rock albums. The average score of reviews on Metacritic is currently 82%. Paraphrasing the headline in Denník N, PJ Harvey has already shaken England, now it is time for America, and in July she is going to shake Pohoda in the best possible way with her new album and the older songs.
