Our friends from Ukrainian festival Atlas has won a prestigious European award
Ukrainian festival Atlas and charity initiative Music Saves Ukraine have won the prestigious Take a Stand Award, presented by the European Festival Awards. Vlad Yaremchuk, our close friend and program director of Atlas Festival, accepted the award directly at Eurosonic Festival in Groningen, the Netherlands. The Take a Stand Award aims to raise awareness for social engagement in the European music and creative industries.

Atlas Festival could not take place last year due to the military conflict in Ukraine caused by Russia, so the organizers launched the pan-European initiative Music Saves Ukraine, of which Pohoda Festival is a part. Within the framework of this initiative, it was possible to organize several music events throughout Europe and at the same time raise funds for war-torn Ukraine.
"We are convinced that the Take a Stand Award is in the best hands. We congratulate all Ukrainians who are helping their country through this amazing project. We are proud that Music Saves Ukraine is also part of our festival," Pohoda Festival director Michal Kaščák congratulates the winners.
In addition to the winners from Ukraine, Denmark's Roskilde, PortAmérica from Spain, the Polish initiative Together With Ukraine, and Pohoda Festival itself were all nominated for the Take a Stand Award for last year's activities in support of Ukraine, and for the organization of the Slovenská Tepláreň Festival in Slovakia.
