NAY House of Dance featuring workshop for the deaf
Traditional as well as untraditional: this has always been the key concept at the popular music-and- dance-focused stage NAY HOUSE OF DANCE which forms one of the essential parts of our festival. Fun is the essence; interactivity, communication and accessibility are the cornerstones and everyone is welcome. We put the program together in cooperation with Fero Morong, the propagator of houses of dance. We also can’t forget to mention our long-time partner – NAY company, which has been with us for 12 years already.

To name a few, here are some picks from the unique lineup – the workshop part during the day and the concert part taking place in the evening – the opening ritual dance of The Māori of New Zealand, haka, Bardfa, the dance Magi led by Michal Noga or excursion to dance history/hysteria. And we have a special in store for you: during the workshop with sign language translator, Barbora Randušková, a song from the Horehronie region will be accompanied by movements so that it can be heard in the world of silence.
The program will also feature a symbolic Green Gold musical themed dance commemoration of the CzechosLOVEakia’s centenary. Tune Yards’ “Heart Attack” is the winner of this year’s clip dance pick. Simona Machovičová will be taking care of bringing bodies to life in the form of original dance creations. The married couple Fero and Barbora Morong will be responsible for a dance earthquake linked with breaking the barriers. Combined with good music played by ĽH Muzička and Javorníček, Pohoda in move will sure be detected by the airfield seismograph as well.
The evening lineup will be interwoven with the rich culture of minorities; the performance by talented Štefan Štec as well as the interactive dance performance Gadžo Express about social prejudices and stereotypes featuring several amazing dancers will no doubt be a great experience. To make “terrible moves accompanied by horrible music” and at the same time be able to entertain the crowd is not something everyone can achieve, but Laco Cmorej is someone that indeed can. “Give Bad Taste a Try” is an idea invitation to this year’s Glitter in Rhythm. In the evening, energetic Bazzookas, magical Yasmine Hamdan or Ifriqiyya Electrique representing Afro culture will be playing for you. DJ Ramzy Al Spinoza will be taking care of interesting world music sound fusion in the wee hours.
