Interactive music and dance programme at Nay Dance House

For the 13th time, there will be an interactive music and dance programme at Nay Dance House. In addition to great performers – dance instructors, musicians, and singers, "the festival inhabitants" will play an important part as well – small, big, courageous and shy, those who are beginners at dancing and also those who belong to the imaginary major league in their genre. All of this will be offered in cooperation with our partner NAY and under the watchful eye of Fero Moronga, the curator of the dance programme.

Friday:

Friday's workshops will be kicked off by a dance treat – you’ll get a fast foot snack from “otec Mirec”, after which your feet will be full of dance and mind hungry for further movement. The quick help comes right after the arrival of Štefan Štec with Ľudová hudba Hornád, who will start a real dance party. We will not be able to do without shiny glitters this year, too. Laco Cmorej with Petra Polnišová and their glitters moving to the rhythm will take us back to the time when we were jingling with our keys. In a gentle and revolutionary manner, that’s also a way to spend lunch at Pohoda. Gábor Gálik and his wife will convince you of the fact that dance connects people. Once you enter the Moldovan dance off, it’s hard to leave. You will hear the accompanying band Csángálló even after the workshop in a separate concert.

Saturday:

On Saturday morning, you’ll receive a musical-dance dose of latino with Mário Lopéz and Sabrosura, and folk music Magura from Kežmarok together with Ján Michálik will take you to the region of Gorals. A workshop called "Len tak – Lendak" promises experience from north Slovak mountains that is hard to find anywhere else. At noon we will “clench fists and put our knees his” – just like in the video for the song Skibidi by Little Big. The dance workshop will be led by Laco Cmorej and we believe it will be Little big “fun” – most definitely during their live concert in the evening. Horehronské čoromoro with Morongovci will bring us back to the native land. The unique musical-dance repertoire of the villages of Horehronie, accompanied by the stylish Roma band Pokošovci, is exactly what will help you remember how important it is to know your own roots.
