Exclusive recording of the Symphony of Free Ukraine

Exclusive recording of the Symphony of Free Ukraine

Within a mere twenty-four hours, thanks to our dear friends, a miracle has happened. Just on Friday afternoon, the orchestral work Symphony of Free Ukraine, performed by the Orchestra of the Slovak National Theatre, had its world premiere at Pohoda. And today we hold in our hands five vinyl records of the performance. This is an exclusive series, and there will be no more records.

08. July 2023

One record will be given to each of the three Ukrainian composers of the symphonic work: Alisa
Formaziuk, Emil Borysenko and Yevhen Petrov. A fourth copy will remain as a memento of Pohoda
Festival, which commissioned the work. The final, fifth copy was donated to the Music Saves UA
initiative. This unique recording was offered for sale at the Music Saves UA stand at the airport and
was sold out immediately after festival organiser Michal Kaščák announced the opportunity to
purchase it. As the war in Ukraine is now in its 500th day, the price of this exclusive record has been
symbolically set at €500, with all proceeds going to the Music Saves UA initiative.

For this express production of the record, we would like express our heartfelt gratitude to Igor
Demčák for recording the concert, Tomáš Drobena for designing the cover, Stanislav Tadra for
mastering and editing the vinyl, and especially Ondrej Slivka from Vinyl-Lab Trenčín, who assembled
a team of people to make this miracle happen in the shortest possible time.

Slava Ukraini!
