Evening for the Attentive – Ďuďovci
Another musical guest of the Evening for the Attentivee will be two siblings from the eastern Slovak village of Soľ. The Ďuďovci (Ďuďa siblings) are wheelchair users and blind. Thanks to their absolute concentration, they transform their handicap in advantage when playing music. The often sing a cappella, with Martina singing the main melody and František accompanying with a higher tone and mouth imitating the sound of various musical instruments. Recently, they enchanted the visitors of Rozstaje Folk Festival in Krakow and the World of Drums percussion festival in Bratislava. Their challenging destiny also took filmmakers, for example, Pavol Sika and the Italian documentary filmmaker Cristian Bertiego. The latter one made a film about them called Lety (Flights).
In addition to Ďuďa siblings, the programme of this year's "Evening for the Attentive" will contain Saténové ruky, Tante Elze, Allstar Refjúdží Band, DJ Potkan, awarding of the White Crow Awards, public presentation of the book Náš António (Our Antonio) about Anton Srholec, literary circus of KK Bagala, and a series of discussions. We look forward to see you in P.O. Hviezdoslav Theatre on 17 November at 7 PM, and in Urban House and bookstore Martinus.sk.
