The idea of our cultural centre has always been to help young emerging talents and at the same time to bring progressive, alternative, and multi-genre music to our region. I mean, to bring not only culture to visitors, but also to allow it to confront it with the local scene. We started in 1992, and we went from the amateur scene up to internationally renowned names. We do not focus only on music—we promote also other types of art such as literature, theatre, and visual art, and we support civic activism. We built the line-up for Pohoda in line with that—there will be fine arts, a discussion about the illegal scene in times of totalitarianism, and music, of course: from the young band 300 hrmených, through the great Nina Rosa, the excellent jazz band Trilobeat, the already respected band Vojdi to the legends of the Brno scene Midi Lidi.” says Marián Pavúk, the boss of Bombura, about the line-up of their stage at the Pohoda on the Ground festival.

MIDI LIDI

Midi Lidi performed at Pohoda in the Air with the unforgettable project The Greatest Hits unplugged. After one year, they will return to the ground, this time connected, as part of the Bombura club scene. In January, they started recording songs for a new album with a planned release date this year. Regarding his concept, Prokop Holoubek said for Expres FM radio: “If we happen to establish a concept in advance, we always throw it off the table at the right time. As for the last album, the concept was that it would be a dirty, serious, techno and krautrock album. And it is the exact opposite.” The biggest challenge is to go through the hours of material, since, as Prokop says: “This time we went to the studio with the idea that we have two hundred and seventy demos.” Petr Marek adds his thoughts about the album: “It will be a threefold album in terms of themes and sounds, because we recorded three types of songs. Some of them will be very thematically airy, foresty and natural. There is a lot of mushroom picking going on there. Another interesting thing is that we also have a bit more sociable lyrics, in songs that are more dance-style. And then, we have darker, long, night songs. So we do not know how to put it all together yet. But Prokop told me that my lyrics are now in these sets: society, forest, love.”

VOJDI

Band Vojdi is characterized by rugged compositions with frequent changes of motifs and unconventional rhythms. With their ironic approach to music and insight, they are reminiscent of the local legendary band Chiki liki tu-a, but their sound is influenced mainly by the French new wave of eclectic bands such as Aquaserge and Piniol.

NINA ROSA

Nina Rosa is the name of a musical trio founded by singer and violinist Nina Marinová; other members are accordionist Michal Mihok and guitarist Antonín Dlapa. They combine jazz, swing, reggae and folk and play in different languages and styles. In 2019, they released their debut Discovery, for which they earned three nominations at the Radio Head Awards. The album is characterized by extraordinary ingenuity, sound experiments, and musical diversity.

TRILOBEAT

The formation from Bratislava, Trilobeat, speaks to fans of jazz, progressive rock, pop, funk, and psychedelia. Composer Jakub Mikula builds the atmosphere of the tracks on piano compositions, which are complemented by the melody of the transverse flute and the vocals of Katarína Mikulová. The rhythm section of the band is represented on bass guitar by Norbert Neuschl (King Shaolin) and on percussion instruments by Marek Sasko (Genius Locci). On the 4th April 2019, they debuted with eponymous album and are currently working on new pieces, which they will also present at Pohoda on the Ground.

300 HRMENÝCH

300 Hrmených is young trio from Levice that plays alternative music inspired by the progressive and bigbeat scene of the seventies.

DEVELOOPER

Develooper is a live interactive looping show by composer Petr Wajsar (Czech Lion Award for music to the film Hastrman, Sket ensemble, ex HI-FI group, etc.). One of the leading masters of beatboxing and looping, he introduces innovative electronic music technology and his own Acappella at his performances. Develooper is also a unique musical instrument of Petr Wajsar's own production that takes on the form of an electric guitar, a microphone, sound effects, and a loop machine. In addition to the music component, it often uses interactive entertainment videos synchronized with music. Develooper is the result of a synthesis of techniques that allow generating music directly during a performance without prior preparation of the material. All this is created and improvised on the spot, inspired by the mood of the audience, including the simulation of musical instruments by human voice.

EM SPILLER

A native of Písek living in Prague, he is a tireless promoter of electronic and dance music, a producer and a DJ performing since 1990. He is also a light designer and the founder of the Music Sound Generation label. Together with producer Roman Rai, he forms project Echoes from Dust (Moving Pictures). He is currently preparing his EP The Bees Story, featuring, for example, jazzman Pavel Hrubý. He also participates in the dramaturgy and production of the festival of one artist—Cool v plote. He is preparing a special festival DJ set for Pohoda on the Ground.

Bombura: Gramcovačka

Maroš Pavúk and Peter Markovski (aka PsychFree Yorric) and their boxes full of immortal music. They hide many genres from peaceful blues to wild punk. Maroš and Peter will release the vinyl spirits of old music and the visitors will only have to entertain themselves well with these tunes.

A small creative studio of artists from Brezno and the surrounding area

Operated by: Juraj Mucha, Lucia Laková, Richard Boháč
Techniques: linocut, drawing (pencil ink), acrylic

The aim of the studio is to capture the life at the festival in a simple art form, create something you can and want to show, or give as a message, to others. You can use your creative art recording of the festival to replace an ordinary photo on a mobile phone, you can draw your status, or you can simply just leave a trace, an artifact. #CreateFestivalCreation

Motorway

Last but not least—One of the activities from the Bombura NKP portfolio is a large-area professional 18-meter-long motorway, which will be available for ride to visitors of Pohoda on the Ground. The offer will include sports car models in the scale of 1:32 of the categories such as formula F1, GT supersports, prototypes LMP or DTM. By the way, to hold the track record is Whisky.
