Berlin Manson to Take Pohoda 2025 by Storm with Their Socially-Engaged Lyrics and Blend of Punk and Rap
The synth-punk band Berlin Manson is, in every sense of the word, a phenomenon on the Slovak music scene. Their socially-engaged and uncompromising lyrics coupled with energetic music have quickly earned them a massive fan base, which is evident from their consistently sold-out concerts. They first gained fame with one of their early singles, "Netancujem, kývem hlavou", then in 2022 they were named Discovery of the Year at the Radio_Head Awards, and just a year later, their "Hotel Kyjev", which they recorded with FVLCRVM, was crowned Song of the Year. In 2024, they released two albums, Poor But Sexy and Polámeme svoje ID?, both strong contenders for Slovak Album of the Year.

Berlin Manson began as a D.I.Y. “apartment” band during the pandemic lockdowns. Initially formed by Patrik Nagy and Adam Dragun, the duo later expanded with drummer Tomáš Tabiš. Their songs and also concerts feature a wide array of artists, including Dušan Vlk, Fvck_kvlt, Katarzia, FVLCRVM, Adam The World, Edúv Syn, Temný Rudo, Paris, and others.
Many fans discovered Berlin Manson thanks to their amazing lyrics full of irony, sarcasm and cynicism. It was their social engagement and response to the current social climate that turned their originally planned EP, Polámeme svoje ID?, into a full-length album with eleven tracks that was released less than nine months after their previous record. It continues their sarcastic critique of the life of a young person, but its main message revolves around love in an age of police brutality and the looming threat of fascism.
“Berlin Manson is still a relatively young band, but they’ve already become a huge phenomenon, and not only in Slovakia. I attended both of their concerts at Bratislava’s Nová Tržnica in December 2024, where they launched their latest album. I’m fascinated by how their music, and especially their socially-engaged lyrics, has the power to connect and bring people together – from a host of like-minded performers to diverse audience members. We could see fans from nearly every subculture and music genre there, from 15-year-old rap fans to 60-year-old punks. Their music is the kind that keeps you afloat in any societal storm. And it’s even better to experience their untamed live performance, which is full of energy that lingers with you long after,” says Lukáš Grešš from the Pohoda Festival team about Berlin Manson’s shows. That’s why you definitely shouldn’t miss their concert in July 2025 at Trenčín Airport, where Berlin Manson will present a special set featuring numerous guest performers together on one stage.
