Ben Howard and Caroline Polachek join the line-up

The line-up of Pohoda Festival has been expanded by two more big names of the contemporary world music scene. British singer, songwriter, and composer Ben Howard and American singer and producer Caroline Polachek will perform at Trenčín Airport in July. The new names were confirmed today by Pohoda Festival director Michal Kaščák during a live broadcast on Rádio_FM.

14. February 2023

Ben Howard (GB), whose career skyrocketed with his very first album Every Kingdom (2011), will make his first appearance at Pohoda. Songs from the album have been streamed over a billion times on Spotify and include hits like Only Love, Old Pine and Keep Your Head Up. Ben Howard's successful debut earned him two BRIT Awards. This opened the door to Glastonbury, where he performed right on the main Pyramid stage.

Besides Ben Howard, Pohoda organizers have confirmed another famous name of contemporary music – Caroline Polachek (US). The American performer and producer, incidentally with roots in Slovakia, is currently one of the most prominent singers on the contemporary electro-pop scene. In 2019, she released her debut album Pang, which made it into the TOP 100 albums of the year. Her single Bunny Is A Rider (2019) was named the Best Song of the Year by Pitchfork Magazine. In addition to her own work, you could hear Caroline Polachek in several songs by artists such as Flume, Charlie XCX, SBTRKT, Blood Orange, Sébastien Tellier, Washed Out, and she also co-wrote and co-produced Beyoncé's No Angel. At Pohoda, Caroline Polachek will present her new album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, which she is releasing today, February 14th.

“Caroline Polachek and Ben Howard are fantastic additions to our programme this year. We have been trying to bring them both to Pohoda for a long time, and with this confirmation I am confident that we are in for an extremely powerful year," says festival director Michal Kaščák about new booking.

Ben Howard and Caroline Polachek join other previously announced artists who will perform at Pohoda Festival from July 6 – 8, 2023. Among them are Central Cee, Jamie xx, slowthai, Suzanne Vega, this year's two-time Grammy winners Wet Leg, SOFI TUKKER, Viagra Boys, Perfume Genius, Arooj Aftab, Shygirl, AMELIE LENS, Sampa the Great, Genesis Owusu, Dry Cleaning, shame, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Liniker, Yard Act, PVA, Hermeto Pascoal, Jana Kirschner, Zea, Tata Bojs, and many others.
