Bazzookas at Pohoda 2019

Bazzookas at Pohoda 2019

Pohoda 2019 will host also the Dutch ska-rock band Bazzookas. The band won the hearts of our visitors with their pop-up concerts, which take place in a school bus, already at Pohoda 2016 and 2018. We now call the band members our friends. A few months ago, without hesitation or claims for compensation, they agreed to perform at the Doma Dobre concert. At the beginning of January, they also helped promote Slovak music in Groningen, as its members also run the Pinguin Radio, which covered the concerts of bands Vojdi, The Wilderness, and Raptor Koch. We are very pleased that our Dutch friends are coming this year again to make dance the visitors of the Trenčín airport. → read more

A unique world music phenomenon and a great man – Keith Flint – died

A unique world music phenomenon and a great man – Keith Flint – died

Keith Flint was a phenomenon, a unique character, a great singer, and a distinctive dancer. He was also an extraordinary person. Pleasant and friendly backstage, uncompromising and healthily aggressive on stage. We were honoured to have hosted him three times in Slovakia –  once in Bratislava and twice at Pohoda. Michal Kaščák, in response to this sad event, said: "The Prodigy made a revolution in music, for me they belong to the most important figures of musical history. It was my dream to have them at Pohoda. After the memorable year of 2005 we chose their concert as a gift for Pohoda’s twentieth birthday. It was joy to be a promoter when working with The Prodigy. I also saw the concert of Keith Flint’s solo punk project – the band Flint. Keith was a real punker, and I believe that just like Punks not dead is true, Keith Flint is not dead will always be true for me."   → read more

Ekman LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Ekman LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Ekman, that's a club explosion and an extremely interesting character of the Dutch electronic scene, Roel Dijcks. We discovered his raw sound of the 909 and acid riffs rolling through dark atmospheric surfaces on the background of carefully composed drums at Berlin's Berghaine. As he himself says: "Every creation starts with destruction," and that’s the way his tracks sound. In his atypical live set, he combines playful acid electro with the darkness of industrial techno, playing with EBM and destroying everything in between these genres. → read more

Illnurse LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Illnurse LIVE at Pohoda 2019

Illnurse, also known as Fred Terror, is a Parisian producer playing a rawer version of techno, who knows very well how to "smash" the dance floor. His pseudonym originates in his profession – he works as a male nurse at the hospital. In Paris, he soon became very popular thanks to the performances with his nonconformist Container crew. His sets include heavy weapons that will make you dance the night away like crazy. Illnurse is also well-known for his hardware live set which he’ll introduce at our festival, too. It oscillates between industrial techno flirting with EBM aesthetics.  → read more

Bukahara at Pohoda 2019

Bukahara at Pohoda 2019

The sensation of the German folk scene, Bukahara, was one of two bands that couldn’t play a concert at last year's Pohoda due to injury of a band member. And it was a particularly anticipated concert. Their contagious joy of playing music and mixing genres combined with the instrumental maturity of musicians with academic education made the attenders of the last year's Pohoda Dňa_FM dance. The portal Quantara aptly wrote in an article titled Global Buskers: "Bukahara concert? That means, quite simply, an evening of pure pleasure." We believe that this time nothing will stop the band from bringing their musical joys to Pohoda 2019. → read more

The 1975 took over the Brit Awards 2019 with two victories

The 1975 took over the Brit Awards 2019 with two victories

The 1975 became the most successful band of yesterday’s Brit Awards 2019 when they won in the main categories – the British Group of the Year and the Album of the Year. Their album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships left behind recordings by Florence + The Machine and George Ezra. As for the bands, they dominated in the competition of Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz. The band also performed on stage during the gala with "Sincerity Is Scary" from their latest album. Shortly after releasing the extraordinarily successful A Brief Inquiry, Into Online Relations, the 1975 are preparing the release of another album – Notes on a Conditional Form is planned for the end of May and the Pohoda 2019 attenders will probably be among the first ones to hear it live. → read more

His joint track with Sub Focus, "Desire", won the prestigious Drum and Bass Arena Awards for the Best Song of the Year.
