Sunnbrella is the solo project of musician and producer David Žbirka, currently based in England. In his work, you can hear references to the best of the UK's shoegaze music scene at the turn of the '80s and '90s.
Starting off as a lo-fi bedroom pop endeavor, it has long since evolved into a successful project. Tracks like "It’s Cool" and "Lost & Found" have been featured on radio stations like BBC 6 Music and Amazing Radio. David has also collaborated with several acclaimed musicians and producers.
In February, he released his debut album, "Heartworn," which confirmed that he is heading in the right musical direction. To mark the album's release, they performed at Rough Trade East and Rough Trade Bristol, as well as other venues across the UK. Special sets were also played in Montreal and New York.
David also played a role in completing Meky Žbirka's last album, "Posledné veci“ (Last Things).
Currently, Sunnbrella is actively working on their second album, and we can expect to hear new songs from this talented project at Pohoda.
