Silní a slobodní: Deti z Boroďanky UA
Strong and Free: Children of Borodyanka
Children from the local art school in Borodyanka, Ukraine, will come to Pohoda to play music, dance, and sing. Borodyanka was occupied by the Russian army for a month; the art school was razed to the ground, and the cultural centre was seriously damaged. Since the liberation, the cultural centre has been partially repaired, and temporary classrooms for the art school have been established there. Although fewer people live in the town than before the occupation, there are more children in the art school. Under the leadership of Natalia Buzovetska, the school plays an important role in the life of the town, and its quality will be showcased at Pohoda through a programme of music, dance, and singing.
The donation for this project in the amount of €15,000 was provided by a consortium of the Open Society Foundation and the Pontis Foundation from a donation by the Taipei Representative Office in Slovakia.
