"Chaos in musical form." That’s how Dork magazine describes the alternative punk-rap duo Joey Valence & Brae — a DIY sensation that has rocketed from dorm rooms to major venues and festival stages. We’re thrilled that Pohoda will be one of those stages.
90s hip-hop, drum 'n' bass, pop culture references, and loads of unrestrained energy, all with a touch of inspiration from the legendary hip-hop trio Beastie Boys—that’s the music of Joseph Bertolino and Braedan Lugue, also known as Joey Valence & Brae. In September 2023, they released their debut album Punk Tactics, from which their biggest hit of the same name has gained millions of views. The song was recorded in a bedroom, with the video shot on a Nintendo console. Their songs exude independence, punk spirit, and playfulness—a vibe that's also evident in how they share their creations with fans.
At Pohoda, they’ll be presenting their latest album, No Hands, which has earned high praise and features collaborations with artists like Z-Trip, Terror Reid, and Danny Brown. Their live shows are a wild blend of adrenaline and humour, where the crowd is part of the experience. As they like to say, "You didn’t come here just to watch our show. You are the SHOW!"
