At Trenčín Airport in July, Bambie Thug will take the stage with a dark, mystical performance. The artist made waves at last year’s Eurovision, instantly gaining a devoted fanbase across Europe as the first non-binary performer to represent Ireland in this biggest European music competition, ultimately securing sixth place with a show charged with dark mysticism and magic.
As an icon of the LGBTQ+ community, Bambie Thug use both their music and performances to break down gender and socio-political stereotypes. Their lyrics, drawn from personal experiences, exude sincerity and vulnerability, addressing personal themes like intimacy, jealousy, breakups, and addiction. Their music reflects this as well, full of powerful emotions ranging from joy to sadness. It defies easy categorisation, so they coined their own genre, “ouija-pop,” blending elements of pop, rock, and electronic music.
A defining feature of Bambie Thug’s artistry is the visual experience they bring to both music videos and live shows, which are as striking as their sound. Prepare for a dark yet theatrical spectacle, brimming with magic and mysticism, at Pohoda 2025.
