11 PM I've always thought some of the hate Peggy Gou receives from corners of the dance music world was a little over the top. Let's not forget she has a track record in making good house music and broke through as an excellent DJ. Unfortunately, her closing set at The Park was less quality dance music and more a pursuit of chart-topping mediocrity. Think of every generic, average big-room DJ set you've heard before—it sounded just like that. The most exciting moment was when Sophie Ellis Bextor came out to perform "Murder on the Dancefloor." A bit random, sure, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't at least tap my toes along.
