We’re heading to Eurosonic
Today, we’re heading to the biggest European showcase festival and conference, Eurosonic. It’s a showcase of new music talents of the old continent, a place for music professionals to meet, and also a presentation of the latest trends and a place to share inspirational ideas in the world of music. Pohoda Team will also attend European Festival Awards 2016 (EFA) for best festivals of the last year. The extraordinary success of Pohoda’s 20th edition was appreciated not only by music professionals but also by a number of voters, which brought a record-breaking number of 4 Pohoda nominations in EFA shortlists.

Music Professionals included Pohoda in three nominations: Best Festival Line Up, Best Promoter and Michal Kaščák was shortlisted in the category of Award for Excellence and Passion together with the likes of Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Ruud Berends (Director at Eurosonic) or Fruzsina Szép (Director at Lollapalooza Berlin). Thanks to our fans’ votes, we are among the top ten European Medium Sized Festivals 2016.
European Festival Awards winners will be announced at the gala taking place in Groningen, the Netherlands, during Eurosonic on 11 January.
The Ills Selected Within ETEP Program to Play Eurosonic
Besides Pohoda, band The Ills is going to represent Slovakia at Eurosonic as well. The band was nominated to attend the biggest showcase festival by Pohoda within program ETEP (European Talent Exchange Programme). ETEP’s aim is to support exchange of good music from countries across Europe. It offers a great stepping stone to artists and gives attendees a chance to broaden their music horizons. On the other hand, it’s an opportunity for festivals to discover quality up-and-coming artists for their lineups. The Ills were a success at Iceland Airwaves in November. At the beginning of January, they are going to perform at Eurosonic, with more than 4,000 music professionals from all around the world attending.
