Utopia, a shining example, the best festival in Central Europe: foreign media on Pohoda 2017
“At Pohoda, fan enjoyment and fun is the very ethos the whole event is geared towards. Pohoda goes further than that; here, you’re family” are the words of the prestigious Drowned in Sound portal about Pohoda. Portal Gigwise published a review of Pohoda titled “10 reasons why we fell in love with Pohoda Festival” with a subtitle “Gigwise travels to Slovakia to discover festival utopia”. Festival Flyer calls us the best festival in Central Europe and Polish journalists of RMF FM referred to us as to their social event of the year. Gazeta Wyborcza was of a similar opinion and wrote: “Festival visitors are attracted by the mythical atmosphere”. The Hungarian portal music-daily.hu praised the stunning atmosphere and the fact that Pohoda perfectly fits the meaning of its name. USA: Music Festival Wizards
Pohoda 2017 was for Vito Valentinetti, Editor-in-Chief of Music Festival Wizard, the sixth stop on his 100 Nights of Summer Tour. Obviously, it was one of the most favourite. In his review of the 21st Pohoda, he says: “One of my top recommendations for festivaling in Europe. One of the top family-friendly festivals in Europe. Truly a hidden gem on the festival circuit. Pohoda delivers a laid-back vibe mixed with a wide-ranging lineup, and I catch something surprising every day.”

Germany: Tonspion

After three days at Pohoda one understands the people who return every year. It's just three days of holiday here. In the centre, there is an old, beautiful, worn out, small piano, and anyone can play it. For almost two hours, I was listening to a young man who was there with his best friends, “just to jam and have a good time”. And in this small family scenery, people laughed, sang, clapped their hands, and danced. A small piece of a big picture is a tiny metaphor for what makes the great whole and is the essence of the Pohoda festival.”

Poland: Gazeta Wyborcza
Another nice review was published in the important Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza. Author Małgorzata Muraszko compares 4 famous European festivals: Spanish Primavera, Polish Open'er, our Pohoda, and German Melt. Among other things, she says this about Pohoda: “Visitors of the festival are attracted by the mythical atmosphere. Also the way they approach people is friendly. Instead of commands and prohibitions, the organizers give recommendations to visitors on what they can do at the festival and what they should not. At the same time, the organizers are not trying to set records in number of visitors: they keep the number at 30,000.”

Poland: RMF FM and Interia.pl
Editors of RMF FM radio and portal Interia.pl are also regular visitors to Pohoda and they write a joint review of the festival. In this yearʼs report, they also wrote: “Festivals are a bit like family: spending time together, we create an intimate relationship with them. There will be no divorce with Pohoda. The idea of Pohoda as a musical event that differentiates it from competing festivals is to give the audience the same rights as the artists have. Pohoda has become our social event of the year.”

If I had one word to describe the festival, it would probably be: wonderful. The atmosphere of the festival itself is overwhelming... The name of the festival, Pohoda, translates as peace and it can be perfectly felt in everything there.

“The unique feature of the festival is that for 20 years it brought and raised a whole generation of open-minded music lovers, who continue to go to the festival with their families, kids and friends. That’s why it is a common thing to see an elderly couple with their teenage son or daughter dancing next to a younger father with a baby on his shoulders.
