Public Art Contest: presentation of the winning concepts
Yesterday, the winners of the Public Art Festival Contest 2015 paid us a visit. Besides the three winning designs, we also awarded two “wild cards”. The winning installations convinced us with their visual aspect and original solutions. So, what will they be about?
04. June 2015
Lucia Barančová in cooperation with Veronika Bátoryová and Martin Brogyanyi: “Pohoda Art Labyrinth”. The work is designed as a labyrinth made of a transparent film, where visitors can get lost and find someone, too. They can use coloured marker pens to leave traces on the walls of the labyrinth, and so, it will gradually lose its transparent quality.
WO/V/EN – Anna Cséfalvay, Marianna Maczová, Danica Pišteková, and Veronika Trnovská: “The Doors: Hra na interiér-exteriér” (Interior/Exterior game). An open air festival has no doors; this work defines the space just behind the door. What is behind it? Another door.
Lomohobby – Zuzana Duchová, Mária Čorejová, Denisa Vološčuková, and Matej Hoppan: “Medzipristátie: Vnútorná krajina” (Stopover: Inner Land). A festival is an intense experience with a number of sensations. “Inner Land” offers its visitors a different adventure: an opportunity to cut off from these sensations. Closed in a non-space, visitors can focus on themselves for a while.
The festival organisers also decided to grant a “wild card” for other two proposals “V pohode na Pohode” (Wellbeing at Pohoda) by Barbora Supuková (a resting place with added value for the festival) and “Bicykel pre performera” (a Bicycle for a Performer) by Peter Kalmus (a special modified bike will illuminate the festival at night).
