Pohoda at the European Festival Awards

We have had a fantastic edition and a fantastic evening. The name of our festival was pronounced four times at awarding the European Festival Awards 2016, a thing that, except for Pohoda, only Glastonbury and Primavera could boast with yesterday. Roskilde and Roch Werchter followed with three nominations. Although the nominations did not turn into an overall victory, it is the greatest achievement of Pohoda and Slovakia in the festival world so far.

We were nominated in the TOP 10 Best Promoter category alongside with promoter giants like Glastonbury, Roskilde, and Primavera. Our Michal was shortlisted for the Award for Excellence and Passion with people such as Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur), Ruud Berends (the chief of Eurosonic), and Fruzsina Szép (the head of Lollapalooza Berlin). Ultimately, Michal lacked not at the stage where, like in the previous two editions, he performed with a number of big names of the festival and music world. This time played the drums in an improvised formation called Children of revolution.

Besides the votes of the professional jury, the public poll helped to decide in the Best Medium Sized Festival and Best Line-up categories. 800,000 people across Europe voted last year. Slovak Grape and Uprising were nominated too in the Best Medium Sized Festival category. That is why the special thanks for yesterday´s evening go especially to you, our fans. For us, you have been the definite winners of the Best Festival Audience category for the past 20 years:)
