POHODA – a festival of services
Pohoda is not just a festival of arts: it has become a food festival and a festival of services as well. This is happening also thanks to our partners who co-create an amazing atmosphere with what they excel in. Thanks to them, this year we have new stages, tents, delicacies, more comfort to offer and we are also preparing more eco-friendly innovations.

MAIN PARTNERS
Our main partner, Orange, is bringing “gigaexperiences” to Pohoda and will be spreading festival atmosphere beyond the festival grounds so that people across Slovakia can experience festival days together. The capacity of charging spots will increase to 1,300 phones this year. Visitors are in for a packed program at Orange Zone, fun in front of Orange stage as well as at Orange Roller Disco and also all the useful services that will make them available at Pohoda, allow them sharing their experiences and be #onlineeverywhere. Besides curating Orange stage, Orange will provide 4G signal on festival site, free WiFi, mobile app, SMS service and reminder. Orange Foundation will fill the optimistic colorful circus tent Optimistent (Optimistan) with interesting debates prepared by non-profit organizations. This year’s focus is on psychology, upbringing, education, hockey and music-related projects.
During its last year’s premiere at Pohoda, Banská Bystrica-based brewery Urpiner was setting a new record. They will be offering a wide variety of their own products as well as beer specials again this year. Apart from the classic alcoholic and non-alcoholic draft beer, beer gourmets can try beer delicacies: Yeast beer 12°, Extra Hop 14° or the new special 13° IPL (India Pale Lager). Urpiner will double the number of taps and will introduce a prototype of automatic beer machine. Their zone will also feature other attractions such as retro tap car and bungee running. Urpiner is preparing a Beergate (Pivobrána) for Pohoda again. For the project presenting beer specials from small craft breweries, Urpiner received a Beer Deed of the Year Award.
Our main partner Slovenská sporiteľňa is going to take care of Pohoda visitors’ financial comfort for the 8th year already. Besides mobile ATMs, contactless payments in Beverage centers or a popular Space zone, new activities are being prepared as well: a fun SportsPark or Pohoda run, where you can run for a chance to win a festival pass to the next year’s festival edition. SportsPark will include activities such as measuring of kick speed in football, popular streetball, workout zone, mini trampolines or foosball tournament. There will also be a hot-air balloon allowing visitors to watch the airport from a bird’s eye view. Slovenská sporiteľňa’s Space Arena will again host an excellent selection of electronic music acts.
Budiš will provide Pohoda visitors not only with refreshments and minerals, but also with humor and ability to stay on top of things. They are preparing a limited edition of products named dry splashes. Ordinary things that are all around us will come to life and with their catch-phrases, they will reflect on summer themes. What will add to comfort during concerts will be terraces for sitting. Visitors can enjoy an exclusive stage view with a mixed drink in their hands thanks to two original BUDIŠ BARs – two ferris wheels. Skimboard performers and dynamic photo-taking with Subtle motion technology will add to fun as well.
MAIN MEDIA PARTNERS
Our main media partners take care of creating a quality content before, during as well as after festival. Magazine .týždeň (.week) will prepare a special festival edition and will offer a number of interesting debates and quizzes in their tent. Pokec together with Pohoda will provide an award-winning artistic-technological LED installation Solar Tree with WiFi connection and USB ports. They will also provide website’s offline version: Speed dating. Here, you can use tablets and a special room of “Pohoda festival at Pokec”. As the main media partner, the public RTVS and Rádio_FM will be preparing regular TV and radio coverage as well as program Festival Minutes. Before festival’s start, Channel Two will air documentary “20 Years of Pohoda” and original acoustic sessions of artists who played Pohoda last year. The Radio(active zone)_FM will provide visitors with live broadcasting and interesting gigs. Media partner Denník N (Daily N) will prepare a festival feature as well as Festival Pohodaily. Pohoda’s new media partner NOIZZ is coming to the festival with colorful self-hairstyling, virtual reality or cotton candy for free.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM
Ticketportal will be taking care of a new stage at Pohoda. Its program features local – Slovakian and Czech – artists. A selling spot where visitors can purchase tickets to events offered by Ticketportal will be located in the immediate proximity of the stage. In Family park, they will be organizing the third edition of bubble blowing for the youngest visitors. On Saturday, they have a discussion in store for visitors on a topic of how the Internet and technologies influence music named YouTube: democratization of fun or its end? You can also look forward to YouTubers such as Pedro, Shopaholic Nicol and A Cup of Style. Those who are in for some moves can dance and jump in Nay House of Dance during workshops and concerts. Top class instructors will show you dances of various nations and ethnic groups. Apart from that, you can try activities with VR glasses Audioshield (where you catch color balls in the rhythm of the music) or “Hit me if you can” (players are standing on elevated pedestals and virtually throw balls). We will bring you a unique alternative electronic music in Laug-Techno-Bau Club. M-POINT will also have their own music program and will provide popular Silent Disco. Besides that, they will mix great drinks for you and offer great views of the festival.
Martinus bookstore will bring a huge selection of amazing literature, debates with authors, readings, workshops and, last but not least, a tasty menu in Foxford café. You can look forward to traditional popular formats such as Slam Poetry or LiteRAPture as well as presentation of this year’s Anasoft Litera finalists. The main guests of the program will be Russian journalist Michail Zygar and Israeli writer Etgar Keret. Europa Stage will again host Café Európa debates on the topical European issues such as populism in Europe, hate on the Internet or relationship of the young towards the European Union. In the neighboring EÚ info zone, you can participate in quizzes, fun competitions and interactive games about Europe.
ECOLOGY
Apart from increasing the quality of services, more and more, we are trying to decrease any impact on the environment at Pohoda. One of the principal eco-news of this edition is that food will be served on compostable packaging by Bionela. All the organic waste will be composted into a substrate which will be used to improve the quality of soil at festival meadow. Compared to last year, we will double the capacity of composting thanks to devices provided by JRK waste management. Živice powered by ZSE tent is preparing practical eco-workshops and debates. They will show you how to make your own eco-cosmetics or save energy. You will also learn about success stories of young people who change their environment. Curaprox is also coming with an eco-friendly initiative. They will be collecting used toothbrushes in their tent out of which they will make trash cans for schools. Green watches will help you separate waste. Curaprox will again offer trainings (also with sonic toothbrushes) and toothpastes at wash basins for free. Another factor that can lower emission is transportation. In cooperation with our eco partner, Slovakian Railway Company, we will dispatch a special festival train from Košice and Bratislava again this year. In the mornings, there will be a festival train, very popular especially among kids, running in the central area of the festival. Besides Považská Bystrica, Trenčianske Teplice and Piešťany, we added a new route to Bánovce nad Bebravou to Pohoda Area Transportation.
MOTO & SPORT
Peugeot is taking care of Pohoda team’s mobility throughout the year. Visitors who will come to Pohoda in their Peugeot will be invited to have a desert coffee from cezve at Peugeot Dakar oasis. A rich program will be prepared in the chill out zone of C3 COMFORT ZONË powered by Citroën. A hosting duo of Michael Szatmary and Stano Staško will be debating with interesting guests. Shell tent will bring a Pit Stop Challenge with a chance to join a competition in tire replacement on single-seater Scuderia Ferrari F1. Slovakian Water Management Company is coming with a radical physical activity – bagging. Next to their tent, there will also be a “walking excavator”. The show of this yellow “transformer” will be complemented by two mini-excavators the kids will have the opportunity to try and that way temporarily become excavator operators. Our new partner Strabag will give visitors a chance to fulfill their childhood dreams and try excavator activities. Strabag will also curate the works of Visual stage. The association of can producers Bevcan East is going to introduce an untraditional fusion of cans and sport at this year’s Pohoda. Can You Make It will bring a bench with bean bags and refreshments as well as an opportunity to participate in sports activities involving slackline or Indo Board.
DRINKS
Visitors can come relax in Kingswood garden that will be twice as big as last year. They can have a rest in the shadow on benches and cots, swings and hammocks or sit on the blanket in the grass. Apart from that, you will be offered refreshing draft cider. On Saturday, between 11 AM and 12 PM, you can look forward to Picnic happy hour. Julius Meinl will offer trendy coffee and tea drinks and a good deal of poetic inspiration. On Friday and Saturday during Poetry Hours between 10 AM and 12 PM you can pay for you coffee specials and tea with a poem. Poets will write poems tailored for the visitors in real time. Red Bull will again provide a quick supply of energy in their wigwams. Traditional syrups Herbert will prepare refreshing lemonades and wine specials. You can find cooling ice floes, shisha bar, a selection of coffee and fresh original Dutch waffles in their tent. In Martini bar, you can try refreshing drinks Martini & Tonic, Martini Royale or a glass of Martini Prosecco, Asti, Rosé and Brut. On Friday and Saturday afternoons, you can mix your own drink here. PD Bratislava – Vinohrady will offer the tried and tested classics of the Little Carpathians vinicultural region.
FOOD
Lunter is coming with their 100% plant-based restaurant again this year. They will be offering soups, hot main dishes, oatmeal, chia puddings and Lunter spreads. Inhabitants of both camping sites can again look forward to their breakfast being delivered right to their sleeping bags. Lunter also comes with the new Bistro offering breakfast menu. Pohoda will again see popular grilled smoked Sheep’s cheese. Liptov will also add a selected number of goodies from their product portfolio Hravé (whips and parenica) as well as the classic Slovakian breakfast – a tasty bread with bryndza cheese spread to their assortment.
Rajo will lighten digestion with their portfolio of Laktofree products. And they will also provide lockers for free, which will be located in two checkrooms. Rajo watches with dairy products will help your digestion as well. Food zone will welcome tasty grilled chicken from Hyza again this year. On Friday and Saturday, they will cook a traditional chicken broth. They will also have Hyza hot-dog factory and Cig-cag Fest delicious pork meat tents. The popular fish hangover cures will be available in Ryby Košice tent. This year a pure cod without preservatives will see its premiere at the festival. As usual, you can also order a mayo cod salad in a roll or get the salad delivered right to your tent for breakfast. In order to fill your energy up, you can buy the legendary local sweets such as Horalky, Mila and Lina, which will be available in Sedita’s mobile shop.
HEALTH
Dr Tent (DR. Stan) is a new space at Pohoda that will be dedicated to debates with doctors about themes such as vaccination, infectious diseases, HIV, planned parenthood and many more. You can test your health condition, learn how to save someone’s life or have a counselling session with doctors here. Those interested can get their skin phototype determined in the tent of Všeobecná zdravotná poisťovňa to see how much sun their skin withstands. The tent will also provide mole check and will check any suspicious changes to the skin. With short 15 minute massages, physiotherapists will get people into shape. Out of a wide variety of products offered by online pharmacy Benu, visitors can order medication and vitamins via www.benulekaren.sk during festival. Orders will be delivered to festival within two hours.
FASHION AND COSMETICS
You’ll find everything that you forgot to bring to the festival at ZOOT city – festival as well as summer clothes and official Pohoda items. You are also in for a number of games and competitions through which you can recharge your smartphones and tablets. In the showers, you will again have a festival edition of Pohoda DIXI shampoo 2in1 at your disposal. You can also have your head decorated with floral wreaths by Magaela at the Dixi tent and enter a photo competition with a thematic photo portrait. A dispenser with sunscreen will be provided for free by Daylong. They are also introducing a new sun watch service. Apart from an amazing program, you are in for an extraordinary service at Family Park. DM drogerie markt will make your backpack lighter, as you do not have to pack your pads or wet napkins: Babylove products in Family Park can be used for free. There will be also baby beds, baby changing tables, and a stock of diapers of multiple sizes in the baby changing tent. Prvá stavebná sporiteľňa will take care of comfy accommodation in PSS – FOX VILLAGE and tickets to Pohoda for the whole crew. Facilities in huts and the new types of accommodation will be provided by Dormeo. You can meet their mascot, sheep Dormík, and mascots Pillows in their tent.
ADDITIONAL SERVICE
Visitors at DobraKrajina.sk tent are in for coffee, delicious cakes and refreshing lemonades. Apart from that, visitors will have a chance to make their own badges here. You can make your own painted t-shirts, tote bags or fans made of fabric at Slovlak tent. The info tent of Slovakian Nuclear Company will allow people to measure radioactivity and solve a quiz as well as enter a competition for a chance to win the main prize – Airwheel. Kit for pitching the tent, lying in the sun, looking for lost things and friends is something you can find in the untraditional library of the Goethe Institute. Eures will offer practical advice to anyone who would like to find employment abroad. They will give you tips on how to prepare an attractive resume and motivation letter.
Bratislava region Tourism will offer info on Bratislava region, summer events and attractions or travel tips. Props such as summer hats, wreathes, moustaches or goggles will add to funny photos from the festival. You can get to know the Považie region in the tent of Trenčín Region. Apart from practical info about the city, the city of Trenčín will take care of Lost & Found. Not only things, but also people who are co-creating Pohoda are covered by Allianz insurance. Our servers and hosting are managed by Bonet. We’ve revealed set times with the program of Pohoda’s 21st edition. You can check when and where the stars such as the Grammy winner Solange Knowles, alt-J, M.I.A. Ylvis, Birdy, Benjamin Clementine, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jake Bugg, Future Islands, Boys Noize Live, Squarepusher, Thurston Moore, Mark Lanegan, Slowdive or The Jesus and Mary Chain will play. This year’s special performances feature local as well as foreign projects such as Bolo nás jedenásť, Pohoda 97, Pohoda 21, London Elektricity Big Band and Beardyman’s Masters of Distraction. There are 2,500 full festival tickets to Pohoda 2017 left. We’re looking forward to you. :)
